In Chobe National Park, Botswana, Round River students watched this lioness stalk a group of warthogs. See for yourself what happens!

Slowly I crept...inch by inch, step by step... Damn, that was one fast, lucky piggy.

Warthog was smart to run in opposite direction and lioness had to waste an extra second to turn around and accelarate again..while escaping from big cats, headstart is very important..they can accelarate very fast but have poor stamina..if you can survive first 10-20 seconds without being caught, you will be safe..
@lfeco Жыл бұрын
That extra second is what saved the warhog.

Seems to me the lion was down wind so the hogs should have smelled the lion. That was pretty clever of the lion to sneak up thru the grass, too bad he missed dinner.

Thats an example of how unsucessfull lions are at hunting. that close and still didn't get it. they only have a thirty percent success rate.

Lions should sit back and watch a leopard hunt. They have much better Win % and they are always alone. You almost never see 2 leopards together or a pride. They are solo. Lone wolfs. Its pretty cool being the lone wolf. Except at a wolf picnic when you need a partner for the wolf wheelbarrow races

Warthogs are easily startled, they have sharp tusks and high shoulders. A challenge sure because they can dig and fight. But it’s worth to hunt a buffed hairless pig.

Nice video, nice shooting. Refrain from blaming, appreciate others' efforts, It is not that easy to shoot in the bush and especially when you are not wild life cameraman. I liked the way the lioness used the tall grasses for the cover, very clever predator

If the lion was smart she would’ve went towards the warthogs that were running directly in front of her being that her momentum will carry her speed closer to the kill, opposed to her turning the opposite direction will slow her speed down. Ehh guess nature wasn’t on her side that day lol
