I love that this song was in the original movie for like 20 seconds and then in the play they actually sang the whole song ❤️❤️

Timon and Pumbaa sing a few bars of this song in the animated Disney film. It's not sung in the Broadway show. This track is sung by Lebo M, who and wrote and conducted the African choir that sang for the movies. He's the one singing "NAAAAAaaats ingonyeaaaa, mabati si baba" at the very beginning of the film, in "Circle of Life". In the Broadway show, the Zulu text was given to Rafiki.

In the show, Timon and Pumbaa sing it at the beginning of the waterfall flashback scene. The show’s soundtrack features a shortened version of Lebo M’s cover of the song.

Not sure, but in the movie, Pumbaa gets distracted by a tasty bug right about then and trails off, leaving Timon wondering where his backup singer/buddy went. I think that's why it's cut short.
