I am not against remakes all the time, but Disney isn't improving on their animated flicks by repeating the same plot, with slight changes to gain progressive demographic points and "appear" inclusive and woke. There were remakes Disney did back in the 90s that I like better than todays remakes, like their Incredible Journey remake or 101 Dalmations remake. Those did things differently, and didn't insult their audiences with cringey jokes or unconvincing cgi. This feels like what Universal was doing with their Dr. Seuss remakes.

It's the 5th of the list of movies grossing the most on Memorial Day Weekend and is on its way gaining the millions back that was spent on it and then some. If you speak Latin. It wasn't stupid. In the spell she specifically states that she wants her to lose her memory as well as her voice. The spell is very dark. I noticed that it was lost on a lot of viewers and it was something they didn't catch. Hopefully that makes the movie make more sense for some of you. It actually makes it scarier that her chances are lessened because of this and Ursula also makes it plain that her voice would carry her if she let her keep it. But she also tries to make it seem like it's ok, nothing is going to happen to your voice. We just wanna see if you can do it and if it's real. She told her very ugly truths and put them in pretty dresses directly in her face. But she relented on telling her she would wipe her memory. She hides everything in plain sight. So again, listen to poor unfortunate souls and translate the spell ❤🎉.

@@warriorwinter2233 right you can clearly hear ursula say 'amnesia' in the spell to take her memory and 'laringitis' to make her unable to talk- we can hear her struggled breathing at times but she cant talk at all since ursula damaged her body in more ways than one to make it harder for her to succeed
