I bet some of the old timer artists who are still around and here some of the new attributes of what we have now wish they had back then

I'm 65 years old and I love Sam Perry's music. He's a genius and a breath of fresh air. He can perform songs by people I don't care for and make me totally love it. I watch him and it's like going to see something created by Mozart. He's that special!

It's the fact he can replay his voice without singing and make it whatever tempo and beat style. The other artists literally have to rely on their voice only with music to back then up.

He said he got the vibe...Chester was great, Sam has the potential to be great too. I thought of Chester as well when I first heard him. Comparing them is a waste of time though since they are totally different in their style.

why there are always crying chester fans which feel like their mission is to defend chester everyhwere? noone attacked chester regarding his skills , it is rather an honor for him to get such an compliment . stop hating everywhere, chester would not be proud of you kids hating everywhere for no reason. of course both are unique persons but everyones perception of music is diffrent so everyone is allowed to compare them even if they are totally different for you and others. if someone says he screams or sings like chester, it doesnt necessarily mean he sounds the same! it just means they have similiar technique or a similar pitch but not the exact same style and voice, which is always impossible because every singer is unique, including chester and all other singers! just stop hating for nothing like children

Wrong since even the people using a "normal" instrument don't use it all the time in every single one of their performances. I'm really glad Sam FINALLY showed he could sing. As for the heart... he's an awesome entertainer but never showed any performance of a song with a message, it's only about the performance. But he does have charisma and stage presence, that's for sure. And I'm not a big fan of the way he's using his looper, it sounds to nightclub-like and I've already seen people using a looper in other The Voice, you can use it to give a deeper meaning to the song, something Sam never did so far. That's why it's hard to totally see him as a singer, especially on such a show. I mean, if it was on a disco song, of course I'd not mind such sounds at all, but on normal songs, it sounds like just fun. It's basically what I think Sam showed all the time, nothing else, just some "fun". Hopefully people will see that I do not simply "diss" him, I said some good thing about him too. Like, I don't know, let's give Sam a song with a strong message to work with and see what he could do. I don't mind the looper but he should try using it for something else than some fun only.

MB14 was better because he kept the meaning of the song alive even when he used his looper. He used it in a way to always emphasize the spirit of the song. Besides, he always showed clear vocals in all of his performances and performed multiple times without his machine just to show he was able to be a singer without it. If he could do it, why Sam couldn't? People are being ridiculous with the "other people use a piano, a guitar... Sam just uses his voice with the looper". Agreed but it's not like any singer uses an instrument in EVERY SINGLE ONE of his performances, right? And about MB14, he even was able to add sounds to the song sometimes without the looper, just using his mouth by beatboxing in certain ways. You're right about what you say regarding Sam, but his arrangements sound too much like nightclub music. Therefore I can not take him seriously as a singer (despite the fact he finally sung this time for real) because of the Dj-vibe he gives off in all of his performances.
