After much downloading, rendering, and re-rendering, and re-re-rendering ad nauseam, here is (finally!) the third episode of The Logo Corner.
In this episode, we take a look at Paramount Pictures, Inc. and its many mountains that were featured in its logo! From the modest darkened mountain to Perumount to the Blue Mountain to the Super Ultra Majestic Mountain, the logo evolved with its own charm and dignity that gave Paramount an air of sophistication.
Because of rendering issues I had to split the episode (yet again) and I do apologize for it. This is part 1 of the Paramountain episode.
Thank you for watching and please comment.
Music and video credits are given in the episode.

I was just thinking about you doing this logo before I saw this in my subscriptions. Apparently some of your fans are only exited just because you uploaded a video instead of being intrigued by the topic. I'm glad you put that disclaimer of the 'Fair Use' act in the beginning in your videos if people are using content made by someone else, people should do that more often on videos using such content.

Thanks for all the history lesson. Hearing you talking about sure is a lot more fun than reading about it on some article.

Speaking of which, I admittedly find it interesting to see the PCA Seal of Approval fading into the Obscure Paramountain when showing an example of that particular variant @ 12:08. I figured it seemed very fitting with that "modest and not the center of attention" description.

They should named this as “Mount Popeye”, named after the famous character in the cartoons, and Popeye was the biggest star in the Paramount cartoon canon which was made by both Flesicher and Famous Studios.

The first part of the history was the obscure ugly mountain from 1927. It can be used on early Paramount films as you can see on KZfaq from about 1929 until early to mid 1930's as well as the early Flesicher cartoons including Betty Boop. By 1933, Paramount uses a custom variant of the closing title to every Flesicher cartoon with Betty Boop and Popeye where the cartoon ends with a circle that goes into a ink bottle and it moves straight up and the goes around and close the cap while the Paramount logo appears without the mountain. That's what they called it the inkwell closing, and it was used for a limited time. Although, later prints of Betty Boop got plastered with the UM&M logo and the Popeye cartoons also plastered with the AAP logo.

I know this is old hat and old Guptill probably doesn't care about logos anymore, which would be strange considering the whole fuss he put up over defending his view on them, but I still half-expect him to notice these videos and say something.
