well the wanderer had to be a nice guy because they helped make the survival guide, which is canon, as it can be found in fallout 4 edit: it's also in new vegas; i guess it was simply taken there by various merchants or reprinted somewhere in nevada edit 2: and i guess the book was so popular that people in the commonwealth even made their own bootleg versions of the guide

Moira will always be a uniquely special npc to me. Fallout 3 was my first fallout game and I was really nervous about it because at the time I thought it was a much harsher game than it is. Moira welcomed me into the world of fallout with her survival guide quest and taught me how to survive the wastes. It's weird but I'm grateful to an npc.

Many fun things: With dead money, there is both Superheated knife and the normal stuff. However, with how Rawr’s fist is a quest item, if you have it when you start you can craft in the Siera Madre, trivializing the DLC.

For the people wondering: The "eating a car" part is just a joke. Every player has their own experience with the games (and therefore their own story), but the in-world explanation is that there are countless stories about that person who changed the wasteland but nobody knows which one is actually true. That's why nobody even knows the gender of the lone wanderer (or any other player character for that matter).

Considering that the epilogue was removed in later versions, I think they didn’t want to include it in case the DLC was at odds with it. Plus, they introduced changes such as the LW surviving the activation of Project Purity, which at the time the first edition of the guide came out, would have been the point the LW died.

So sheriff simms death is canon. I'd reloaded a save and worked hard to make sure I killed Burke right as he turned hostile

I like the idea of a continuation of the lone wanderer like bethesda's fallout 2 when the story is 20 years old with Maura as one of the few who really knew the wondered but I don't see it as really happening

Playing as a legend that changes history fallout is so epic

I always weighed Burke against Simms, and took his hat after preventing the sheriff from getting blindsided from behind (I would really like to teach him how to arrest people, ESPECIALLY in the Wasteland! YOU DON'T TRY TO WALK AWAY BEFORE THEY DO!!!)

I would genuinely love If Fallout 5 Did that thing that telltale did in twd Series where you either play as someone trying to find the lone wanderer or Being the Lone Wanderer, I would find it cool if you could like sync Your Fallout 3 Data and Make it so that Your Playthrough on Fallout 3 Mattered for Fallout 5

I think the LW would never expect Burke to shoot Simms from behind. I'm sure we were all shocked on our FIRST playthrough when it happened. At this point in the game the LW is not a hardened soldier, so personally I think it's cool how accurate the epilogue is, whether canon or not.

So the epilogue is set a year after the TV show pretty neat huh

It’s weird but it makes sense how sherif simms the one in 3 was going to almost always die in the burk encounter, and his son knows you saved megaton so he somehow found out you stopped the bomb and tenpenny

I don't particularly like when supplementary sources try to establish lore in this fashion, as guides are often written based on early and/or unfinished game builds. They also don't take into account player choice. So I would take this epilogue with a grain of salt, for anyone who is unsatisfied with its outcome.

I saved Lucas or the Sherriff of Megaton in the fastest draw moment of my life just to hear him thank me personally. I am always trying to do good even when its a risk on my part. So my Wanderer is a hero and legend that made his friends and father proud. Tenpenny Tower is a hell for me by the way. Deathclaws are more likable.

Meets practically everyone in the wasteland, 20 years later and no one remembers if they where a man or woman, if they where kind or sadistic. Like I get it but just no. Bad writing, bad writing never changes. You could look at it under the idea that the LW only did a handful of side quests. That would explain the whole "Few people knew them." But if your going to be so vague about the players characteristics then you might a well be vague about the quests. Personally when it comes to games like this, even kf there is no stated Canon, it's good to keep in mind that the every good quest or side quest is canon and that if one can have a split between good and bad or good and selfish, then the most likely Canon is the good option. For example curing that Vault kid in Fallout 4. You can get infected by a mole rat and choose to either keep the cure for yourself or give it to the kid. Even if it never comes up again anywhere in the series, chances are curing the kid is considered the Canon answer. Altho thinking about it, taking it to the Institute and having them mass produce it would have been much more interesting
