​@andrewlavoie6034 probably because they either couldn't make the old animations work with hands, got a different animator, or just decided the style of the old animations didn't work for what they were going for.

If I ever get this game on PC i might try to mod the weapon animations to be a little smoother while still keeping the pace of the original ones. These are great, but maybe some Insurgency-esque animations might be cool too.

pretty sure the main character isnt a trained soldier like in most games, so its reasonable if it's his first time using guns to survive

@@user-fr9ro3ir8c I mean, if the character has normal muscles and bones, you just need to firmly grip your gun, don't need training for that, even when i shot for the first the time i handled recoil better, and i'm the most average man ever in size

Wanting to expand on this. Make it so you can find either birdshot or slugs, and you could swap between them depending on the situation. Gives the shotgun a multipurpose niche at the cost of ammo capacity (maybe make it rarer too?)

​@@dartiatheslavqueen why on earth would you try to hit the legs of a deer. When you can use a rifle and hit center mass. Or even the bola shots and hit center mass. Cutting the leg of a deer will result in nothing else but a deer running away with 3 perfectly good legs

if they will update the birds and add more species then 1 barrel shotgun is sure a nice thing to add. About crossbow I doubt since bows are way more practical for hunting

Depending on how pedantic you want to be, the "revolvers cannot jam" myth comes from the fact that "jam" is often used interchangably with "misfeed". In revolvers, bullets do not become wedged half way inside the chamber during the feeding or ejection process because, you know, there isn't one. They are each preloaded into their own chamber, and those chambers cycle, hence the term "revolver". When you define "jam" as any mechanical binding (not an unreasonable definition but, again, also not necessarily the colloquial usage) of course they jam. Everything that moves can jam. Even your goddamn shoulder socket can jam.

​@dylfai Exactly, revolvers have the potential to lose timing or have light hammer strikes which are equitable if not more catastrophic than a "jam"

Went scrolling for the "revolvers don't jam" Fudd lore and it didn't take long to find it lmao. Anything with mechanical parts that depend on timing can "jam." Jam is just a catch all for "mechanically bound up and needs to be unf*cked before it can be used again."

I'm one month late, but the revolver in this game doesn't "jam". There's a gunsmithing skill that allows you to craft ammo from gunpowder, lead, and empty cases. All ammo has a "condition" percentage which determines the quality of the ammunition. Ammo you find around the map is always at 100% since it's mass produced, and as such will always work perfectly. But unless you have maxed out your gunsmithing skill, ammo you make yourself will come out at a lower condition, which means it has a chance to misfire when you use it. If you craft a bunch of 50% condition ammo, then when you fire it'll have a 50/50 chance of misfiring. What you see in the video is a misfire caused by using shoddy hand-crafted ammunition.

Anything with moving parts can jam, a jam is basically when anything with moving parts fucks up and you have to fiddle with it to unjam it

All the revolvers here are smith & Wesson model 27, smith & Wesson triple lock revolver and a colt double action army M1892 revolver...

Finally single action means you need to manually pull back the hammer to fire opposed to all the revolvers in the video that are double action

A bit spoiling the game's lore. If you don't want to spoil anything then just ignore this comment. Basically the island we are surviving on had some kind of military aid. The presence of military is also seen in the game. I think same types of rifles and revolvers is explained by a fact that it all comes from the military. I doubt there would be a point of buying specialized hunting rifle if you can get one from the military. People just modified them to fit their needs
