The Long Way Around

3 жыл бұрынWhat we have here isn’t your typical bike trip. Four close friends ventured into the great woods of the American west to experience the land via bike. Their original plans thwarted due to the devastation of wildfires that seemly strike the west more and more each year. With some last-minute rearranging of the route and a nod that it was safe, the ride was on! They took off to experience a ride and hike that some might call, downright insanity.

I love this. Something about how the narrator when he said, "I'm starting to think they are kookoo...or maybe they just got a secret, and I wish they'd tell me" just hit me. He sounded so sad there. This is just so simple and well made. I love it.

Chris the great story teller strikes once again. Great work sir. Ironically the one thing that catches me a bit is the title. Similar to Euan McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s ‘bike’ trip title. Narration on point, combo of shots great but again. Chris, the great story teller, between he and Casey Neistat the great story tellers of their generation. Putting me in the mood for some of the same. Thank you!

Props to 12:30 and all other sections where you see 3 riders. That means one of them stayed behind. Would love to ride with Chris, Lael, and Rue one day (Erik, you too). Adventure filmmakers who go out on self-supported trips require some series kudos for lugging equipment + camera gear to share the journey with us all.
