Fun fact: in Japan you have to handwrite your résumés in pen-- so if you mess up even one stroke you have to start from the very beginning again and have to physically write multiple copies if you apply for multiple jobs.... now consider the fact that the job market is very tight in japan, so this guy had to handwrite anywhere from 20-40 applications perfectly with this long-ass name.

おそらく「入道」までが戒名で、最後の4文字は俗名でしょう。戒名が付いているので「△□○」は諱ではなく仮名と思われますが、それにしても変わった字ですね。何となく戦国時代以前の名前っぽいですが、源平両方の字が入った名前にも複雑な背景がありそうです。

Alright-- I kinda got you. I haven't spoken Japanese on a regular basis since I went to high school there, so my translation might be a bit rusty and I'll be using the automatically generated Japanese captions to fill in for words that I miss but, I'll try to translate the best that I can in comment form: "Well, in today's video I will be writing all 17 characters of the longest Japanese name in gold brush pen on black drawing paper. In other videos there is one other person with a 17 character long name, but there's one other, right?* It's a surprise, so I certainly wanted to try to write it. so, let's write it. okay. so, with this, it's complete. I hope you can take a look at it. The reading is: ta mu ga, let's (I couldn't get this part) a little ta mu ga, byouinden hotsu kori jirou nyuutou minamoto no --- this is trianlge, square, circle, but it's read as three four circle (said as mi yo maru in Japanese) so, It looks like it is read as minamotono miyomaru-san. Okay one more time, tamuga byouindenhotsukorijirounyutouminamotonomiyomaru-san is how you say the longest Japanese, 17 character name. Okay, I sincerely thank you for watching all the way to the end of the video." *I just wanted to say that I think this means that there's another 17 character name, but it doesn't have as long of a reading as this one does-- but I'm not entirely sure. The sections with the parenthesis are sections I couldn't quite get right or were little notes I put in to explain the context. This translation isn't the best, but I sure tried my best to make a somewhat comprehensible English translation.

The person's family name actually is the first 3 character name... the one that's 14 characters long is actually their personal, given name. In Japanese, the family name comes before the given name. For the sake of illustration, pretending I was Japanese and not a foreigner, my name would actually be ordered as Howard Kat with my family name coming before my given name-- but in English, we put our given name first followed by the family/surname.

Will Japanese people frequently hand-write the KANJI? The writing is generally OK, while if focus is more paid to the structure and balance, that will improve a lot. As a Chinese' respect, the balance is always the most important in hand-writing. Hope the advice would help.
