An intimate look at the month of Ramadan through the eyes of Muslims in opposite ends of the world.
Muslims worldwide observe the holy month of Ramadan, which involves fasting, prayer and spiritual reflection.
However, observing Ramadan can be challenging in countries where daylight hours are very long. In Iceland, the nearly 24-hour daylight in summer can mean that fasting timings need adjusting. Some Icelandic Muslims fast in line with daylight, but others do so according to the time in the holy city of Mecca.
Meanwhile, in the New Zealand winter, daylight hours can be relatively short, and some Muslims spend much of this time preparing for iftar, the after-sunset meal that breaks the fast.

Muhammad did not know of the existence of Iceland or New Zealand when he made the rules of Ramadan, he had no idea about the outside of Arabia. He had no sympathy even for the plight of the poor and working people. It is extreme inhumane torture for a man to do manual labor in a hot country.

I am a revert Chinese. Whenever I think that Ramadan is hard for me when I am feeling a bit lazy, sick or tired. I always remind myself that there is someone on the other side of the world that is having it more difficult than me. Imagine the Palestinians that are in war and are fasting this year or those who are deprived from food, poverty and pain. We must say Alhamdullilah sitting on our desk or phone waiting for Maghrib.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is more than just starving yourself.. @@user-xx6fe1xs7n Ramadan; we have at least one Month in Year. in this Month we restricted every wrong thing. addiction, like Drugs, Zina, doing Wrong Things, there is many sins humans are doing all year. but this month he will stop. eventually after this month he will not have that habits. we feel hunger to feel what is hunger and many things. i just can’t long comment to make u bored.

Alhamdulliah, it's not about the fasting or staying hungry it is about to feel how the poor, homeless, hungry people feel everyday. Ramdan also month of discipline, month of self-restraint. In one word Ramadan is a month of Sanctity.
