Thank you for this compilation, Alan, and deepest gratitude to Rupert. The first clip especially addresses an area of huge (and wise) resistance to the "no mind" refrain frequent in non-dual teaching, to the oft quoted "the highest consciousness is the absence of thinking." This intuitively felt wrong, since the capacities to learn, remember, reason, analyze, invent, and innovate exist. And they can be applied in the service of truth, beauty, love. It struck me as foolish, harsh, spiteful, and ungrateful to aspire to the obliteration of thinking (which is what many teachers, directly or indirectly, advocate). This is akin to the teachings that detest the body rather than respect, care for, and listen to it. Such teachings felt like denial of reality, training towards self loathing. And ultimately an endless path of futility attempting to do the impossible; I was not motivated toward such undesirable outcomes. Rupert has a gift of conveying the discernment necessary to sort through and untangle the sometimes weird messages in spiritual teachings. He cuts through confusion and misunderstanding and provides tools we can use ourselves with skill and wisdom. So grateful for his compassion and clarity!

Finally I hear it explained. From a child I could feel "myself" in the background, always there. As a child, teenager and adult, I didn't know what it was and I never found anyone else who would admit to feeling it. I would ask people who I trusted "don't you feel it"? This was so beautifully explained here. Thank you. 💛

“There's only one emotion in the separate self that is stronger than its fear of dissolving and that is its desire to dissolve". This is such a powerful revelation of what each one of us truly wants deep inside, above all other desires. Thank you Alan! Love all the teachings from Rupert that you've posted. 🙏

While appreciating the work that goes into editing content 'borrowed' from Rupert meetings it would only be appropriate and respectful(both to Rupert, the meeting participants and the listener) to turn off ads during the video. Thank you.
