It is the heavenly aspects of this earth that led Tolkien to dream up the world of Middle Earth; I do think that’s why he calls it Middle Earth, because it is still part of this world in his heart and soul.

Tolkien believes in the hope of heaven. That part in us that knows truth, goodness, honour, loveliness...shines in our fellowship, empathy, compassion, forgiveness. To love... greater than before, creates our world, invites peace, shows mercy. I believe it also.

@@Jerrrbear Well said. And fundamentally the world Tolkien wrote about is this world, this earth, not some other planet. Tolkien studied a lot of older and ancient texts and records, and a lot of the things we read about in his books have actually an extent and depth of realness most I think don't fully realise yet. For example, Rivendell, was inspired by a real place in Switzerland called Lauterbrunnen Valley, you can visit even today, (the only thing that's missing is the elvish architecture!); and have you seen Mont Saint Michel in France? Just look it up! There is Minas Tirith still present! And there are still some trees in the forests of England that in shape look just like Ents. And what do we now learn about trees (such as from The Hidden Life of Trees book)? Look it up, there is a documentary about it called Intelligent Trees. So you see Middle-earth to an extent is here. The sadness we feel for a longing to be in that world comes from what was once and is no more, but there are still places like examples given above that are still here with us. And remember, we are creators, or subcreators, we can create much that we have in our mind and feel in our hearts.

It does exist! When millions of people feel the same longing and nostalgia for a place that we have all read about, heard stories from and seen in films, is it not real?

Then go and make it! Nothing is stopping us from putting down these phones and computers and going outside! We're addicted to them, and we waste our lives on them.

For me it’s because gandalf reminds me of my real life grandfather. Always Something so fascinating to me about wise old men. I feel the natural obligation to listen to them and learn and i can honestly say gandalf has left such an impact on my life and I know it’s been said a milion times but for me it was actually true. Gandalf completely changed my outlook on life with just one quote among his many. “ so do others who live to see such times” i just sat down one day on drugs having just been fired from my job on the verge of a mental crisis and suddenly i felt the urge to youtube search that one scene of frodo being in the similar position i was in, contemplating life and that feeling of distress instantly disappeared from that point till now. Gandalf spoke to me like an angel and now I’m in a deep state of peace/enlightenment and wether good or not it was for my betterment. Nothing can phase me anymore. His voice always comes back and readjusts everything when i need it. It made everything so clear to me how simple life really is. How i was worrying about so many other things than I already had to which were unnecessary

I agree. Unfortunately I don’t have any control over how many ads KZfaq puts on my videos. I’m afraid the only way to watch without ads is by getting KZfaq Premium.

After a couple years of complaining about the same thing, I finally decided to pay for the premium and since I use KZfaq for most of my entertainment I don't pay for any cable and just a couple of the streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. Now I pay about $40 a month for all the videos I could ever watch (or just listen to) and not having ads is exactly what I needed.
