I dont know why they added him because he had very little to do with anything, he just did his own thing singing and dancing in his part of the woods. When frodo offered him the ring he wasn't affected by its power to be dominated he in fact didn't care for such items just looked like an ordinary ring to him.. peter Jackson was gonna add him in lotr but due to little to no effort on his attendance in the war of the ring it was best not to add him.. what can they show here of Tom theres not much to show besides the guy singing and dancing and not giving a damn about sauron amd his ring of power.. they say Tom is in fact an embodiment of eru himself and eru will not intervene unless absolute necessary he only did have a hand in the destruction of numenour and the rock that gollum slipped up on in Mount doom which caused the destruction of the one ring

@@schadenfreude6274 It's one of the names of Iarwain Ben-Adar; eldest and fatherless, who entered the world even before Sauron; a being of nearly-indomitable power and a close connection to music. He doesn't undertake the quest of the ring himself, but he does save Frodo and his friends from death multiple times. Sadly, Tolkien didn't take the time to fully explain him, but there's enough there to make an educated guess as to his true nature, and if what I've heard about him is true, it would explain why he doesn't travel far, why he considers himself the eldest, and his great power and relationship with music. Of course, the real reason I want to see him isn't just for his sake. I think it would only be right to include at least *one* of the friendlies who met Frodo on his journey to Bree (Fredegar Bolger, Farmer Maggot, Gildor or Bombadil,) because if you don't show people that good folks live in and around the shire, the viewer doesn't have as much of a stake in protecting it.

Hopefully one day when Hollywood take their heads outta their asses. As it is now they would not make LOTR again in any medium without massive modification to the characters. Just look at the needless injection of Tauriel into The Hobbit, and that was in 2011-13. Today they would gender swap at least 1/3 the fellowship, and make Frodo/Sam a overtly repressed gay couple. I'm not even joking or being nasty about it - that's just the reality of what Hollywood has become, they can't leave original IP's alone and just adapt them as is anymore without tinkering in just about everything about them. Even an Earthsea adaptation wouldn't escape it.

If only this was real back when Pixar was at their best. Inappropriately roaming hands or not John Lasseter was the without a doubt the creative keystone of the Pixar team that Disney bought into. After firing him it seems like the remaining old guard of Pixar creative corps are either on autopilot taking orders from above, or have just checked out altogether. I look at Pixar films of the last few years and I honestly can't say anymore that it feels like Disney couldn't have made those films, mostly because it feels like Disney itself made those films and just branded them as Pixar.
