It was truly breathtaking to see Geralt finally gathering all Infinity Stones!

It was so compelling the way Galadriel survived all that time stranded with nothing but a volleyball she named Elrond to keep her company. She even saw it through to deliver the last ring once she made it home. Really brought this story to life where Tolkien had struggled to find the words for it.

Still needs to be said: For those of you who only know the movies and are wondering why any of this outcry matters, Tolkien didn’t set out to write just another fantasy, his first love was language and mythology. As a linguist, he set out to make the most beautiful language ever created (Elvish.) He invented Elvish based on Northern European languages. As a historian, he wrote the Silmarillion and all the other extensive back lore that is only hinted at in the movies as alternate mythology for the British Isles. The very creation of Middle Earth by the gods through an act of song was informed by Finnish myths. He was steeped in Northern and Western European culture and the myths, legends, languages, stories, racial characteristics, history, and cultures of Middle Earth are inextricably built from corresponding roots of European culture in a way that no fantasy has ever been able to replicate before or since. He is considered by many of us to be the true father of modern fantasy and no one-bar none-has equaled the depth and verisimilitude he brought to that creation. This trailer and all Amazon interviews to date prove that they don’t care about any of this and intend to dismantle the very foundation of why Tolkien wrote these books as a labor of love in the first place. He loved his culture, his history, and his language and his invented languages, world, races, and stories were the medium through which he communicated his love of his ancestral heritage. To change his work in the ways shown in this trailer and subsequent interviews is not just to reinterpret some surface aspect of his stories, it is to completely undermine his stated intent, strike at the heart of his passion, and directly attack his own cultural heritage.

The part when Saruman said "Say my name" and Gandalf replied "You're Heisenberg." absolutely gave me chills! Not even Tolkien could have imagined drama this tense!

I really appreciate how the showrunners are sticking close to the source material. I particularly like when Galadriel takes the ring from Sauron's hand and in her dying breath snaps her fingers exclaiming "I am Galadriel".

The speech female Frodo gave about Orcs lives Matter was truly breathtaking. It's about time someone brought this issues in middle earth.

I’m a grown man, but when Gandalf tossed Frodo his jersey and said, “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid,” I cried. I honestly cried.

When Bilbo yelled repeatedly "Heeector" to challenge him for battle and Captain Jack Sparrow stepped outside the gates... that was an incredible moment. Absolutely insane acting and plot twist. 5/7 writing.

Galadriel standing up in the back of the jeep taking her sunglasses off staring at a field of Brachiosaurus and doctor Malcom standing behind her saying “life finds a way” straight gold…. cant wait

The way Galadriel says "Pokemon are not lesser... but other. Not worthless, but with another value. Not disposable... but with a different disposition" is truly some masterful acting and writing.

When Galadriel lit a cigar and said "I love it when a plan comes together", I got the chills. It truly was the most Tolkien thing I've ever seen!

"Get to tha choppa!". Tolkien nailed it, man. Timeless one-liner, never gets old.

Loved the part where Galadriel said "I never thought I'd die fighting side by side with a Man." And Celeborn said "I identify as paraplegic black woman."

And Karendriel showed up and said "I demand to speak to your manager!" It gave me chills.

The part where sauron says " Autobots transform" And Gandalf was stuck in Narnia drifting he's rx7 saying "family" over and over again gave me chills. 10/10 Tolkiens couldn't have wrote it better.

The part where Gandalf pulls out the sub machine gun and says to the orcs ‘say hello to my little friend’ was truly breathtaking Tolkien could not have wrote it better.

Galadriel singing “let it go” when crossing the Helcaraxë will remain the best musical scene in this production and beyond; proving the showrunners have all the potential to effortlessly surpass benioff and weiss!!!

Can’t forget the chills when Gandalf called Sauron and told him “That was not any wolf, that was John Wick’s wolf” and then took a sip of old moonshine, all when Frodo was playing rock paper scissor with Gollum on the other side of the table. Truly astonishing!

The part where Sauron says to Gandalf "You come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married, and you ask me to do murder for money" brought me to tears. It's so nice to see that Amazon really cares about the lore and is faithfully adapting Tolkien's work.

Me: “I wish this series never came out.” *crying* Gandalf: “So do all who live to see such times but that is not there’s to decide, all they can do is decide what to do with the time that is given to them” Me: Re-watches Peter Jackson’s movies and re-reads books.

When Adar tells Galadriel "I am your father" is such a shocking twist, but Galadriel's epic rebuttal "I have a father, his name was Ben Parker!" is one of television's finest moments. Even Tolkien could never come up with such beautiful dialogue.

That part when Boromir said "Winter is coming." absolutely floored me. Not even George R. R. Tolkien could conceive such a profound scene! Can't wait for The Rings of Winter book to come out.

A lot of effort was put into this, except from the writers and the people in charge of casting.

One does not simply "re-imagine" LOTR, attach Tolkien's name to it and then get away scott free.

The part where Sauron says "I'll be back", then sinks into mount doom doing an ok sign with his hand is pure gold. Tolkien could never have come up with such intricately woven text.

My favorite moment was the dialogue when Gwaihir asks the trembling Gandalf, "How many flights is that for you, wizard?" "Thirty-eight...simulated.""How many combat flights?""Two, including this one." Best Tolkien moment.

The part where Hagrid rides his bike over the Sauron's eye yelling "you're a wizzard, Gandalf" as the old man turns Gollum into a seafood so that Toothless won't be hungry, that was incredible. It's a shame that Hiccup didn't make the cut, but Tolkein knew what he was doing - complex wooden leg mechanisms weren't a thing yet. Incredible historical accuracy.

The part where Isildur said to Sauron: “It’s over Sauron. I have the High ground” before cutting the ring from Sauron’s finger was one of the all time great moments in cinematic history.

*It is not just the cast and the story mutilation, Amazon (purposefully?) failed to capture the spirit that J.R.R. Tolkien built Middle-Earth upon.* Amazon managed to make the most regular cliché action show out of the masterpiece Christopher composed for us from his father's vast unpublished texts. I'm not saying Peter Jackson got it right, he portrayed maybe 70% of LotR (and 70% of the greatest fantasy world that ever existed is still mountainous, as we all witnessed) but no matter slight incongruences, he managed to convey the inimitable feeling that Tolkien's creations bear. Rings of Power look like a bad fan-fiction with budget.

When Galadriel turns on the elves and says "it's morbin time", proceeding to kill Legolas I almost cried. But when Jack Black shows up with the pick of destiny defeating Galadriel and reviving Legolas I broke down. What a cinematic masterpiece, Tolkien could have written this.

That scene where Tom Bombadil, Gil-Galad, Thrain the 1st, Morgoth, Frodo, Galadriel and Radaghast are sitting in that circle discussing their feelings with their therapist A’nnatarr…. Was absolutely gut wrenching and tearfully emotional………. They were all sooooo strong in that moment…………

I'm going to start a chicken farm and name all of my chickens after the stars in this show. And I'll name my roosters after all of the producers. Then I'll film them doing chicken things. I'll name my film, The Making of the Rings of Power.

It was an interesting choice for the Elves to use M8 Armored battle tanks. Although more expensive, the T-34 Calliope battle tanks would have been more effective.

I love the part where Sauron emerges and immediately hits us with his iconic line “It’s Saurin’ time” The producers have really outdone themselves with this one!
