@@cachal in back stories and adaptations of the Lost Boys it was revealed that during the 17th and 18th century that David Powers and Marko Powers are brothers who were turned by Maximillian Lawrence when they fell into misadventure on the high seas. Dwayne portrayed by Billy Wirth) and Paul portrayed by Brooke Mccarter (RIP) would be subsequently turned a little later.

Do you mean by 'corpses' the vampires? Because if you go by what we've seen in Michael's transformation in the movie, you don't become a vampire through your own death, but rather by drinking the blood of a vampire, which turns you into a half-vampire, and then by killing a human, you become a full vampire... (At least that's how I remember it).
