Kiefer deserved an Academy Award for his work here. I don't even remember the other characters' names. He just owned this movie, at the ripe old age of 20 years old, to top it all off.

I read someplace that Kiefer Sutherland said that he had the best summer of his life while making this movie. It's easy to see why. He played a vampire at night, and during the day he could be at the beach or at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
