I would have thought that a really good next step would have been to use the drill shaft to pump coloured smoke into the void space, and look for leak out to try and pinpoint any closer possible entrance routes.

History ch is like unsolved mysteries. Gets old when they talk a bunch but come up empty handed every show .

One was recently recovered from our hometown. The hunters disguised themselves as NGOs who offered to help the people from the locality by building a lighthouse. Of all the aid they can provide, it is a lighthouse. The project started and they were working around the clock non stop. A few months passed the light house was never finished and the people who were building it was nowhere to be found. Near the site they found an old sunken ship with some sawed off parts of it. And that's how the locals confirmed the rumour that a piece of the Yamashita treasure is in our locality. This happened in Leyte.

The tunnel on that mountain was visited by previous treasure hunters 30 years ago and they got helmets, guns, ammunition and They found a Japanese soldier's uniform and human skeletons.

My town was a Japanese air force base in ww2. And it's still not explored. There's a story here that passed down to generations where a last japanese ship carrying golds got blown up by the american submarine few miles from our current port. And the clue left was a landmark that there is a american sub docked here in ww2.

Sometimes I think its stupid that a treasure is buried that deep during a time of lower technology then now people don't have technology to bring them up

For those who commented about the team, 1st they have a permit from national museum and the land owner to do the excavation. 2nd there's a law stated the percentage of share for both the team, government and land owner. 3rd they are heavily guarded at the location with countless security guard to ensure their safety and security. 4th they are constantly visited and inspected by the government for updates of the progress. They are digging in government consent so I don't see any problems with that. But still it's a TV show and whether the find treasure, they will not published the real value of it. I have yet to hear any producer getting rich after finding a hord of gold, when is any TV show actually going to find something and not just leave it on a blockbuster ending.

Some of the gold bar treasures can be found in Central Luzon. One of the local family here was able to dig out a wooden box of gold bars in a farm they lived. Its not a rumour because the family became the wealthiest family here in the city. The X governor during the 90's got very interested and started digging different places of interest where the Japanese used to stay.

Do you have any clue what happened next? It feels like they stop uploading after taking a big amout of treasure. After watching it and knowing that they already stop uploading 3 years ago it makes me feel sad and angry as a watcher because I spent my time for this and not getting any good ending. ps: sorry I'm not good at english.

Hi , John Casey and your crew, when you were drilling in the side of the waterfall and you reached the boxes, why didn't you use the core drill and drill into the boxes and see if you would find some gold or etc:

Despicable how governments around the world dont assist explorers trying to locate these hoards, yet want most or all of the profits when theyre found.

Gen. Yamashita is a very underrated Japanese personality. Known as the "Tiger of Malaya for his swift conquest of Malaya and head general for the Japanese forces in the Philippines during the last days of WW2. He is also known for ordering to bury tons (hundred tons) of gold in Philippines. I have known many Japanese generals( and admirals) fighting abroad during WW2 that committed suicide rather than surrender, but Gen. Yamashita surrendered alive to the Americans, you would know why, it's because of the gold. Had Gen.Yamashita was not executed by the Americans(for the charges he didn't know), he would be all-time hunted by many to say where the gold deposits is. He would be even more popular than Gen. Tojo and Admiral Yamamoto. He would be even called by the new Japanese government to serve in high-ranking position and if successful in recovering gold deposits for Japan, he would become a national hero for his country and made Japan very rich. The Americans can even extract information from him to get that gold. Such a disgrace for both Japan and US that he was executed, the Philippines has to accumulate all of that gold, many of it is now in it's treasury.

New thought. Finding the gold might be easier if scans are conducted for trace amounts of impurities found only in the gold that should be present in streams coming out of the mountain where the gold is thought to be kept.

This piece of history means a lot on us the Filipinos. Many of our ancestors had been forced labor with Japanese equipments and Gold treasures, the worst is that the Japanese soldiers under General Yamashita slaughtered and even buried alive our ancestors along with those treasures.

does anyone know the episode where they were inside a cave and they broke through a wall only to find it was filled with water, they tried scooping the bottom at the wall entrance and pulled up coins, i can't find anything about what happened after that episode?

They have drilled into the bottom side of Oak Island or the Lagina's brothers sewer line. It may be Imelda Marcos shoe boxes.
