The team descend upon a field just outside Bath to investigate the remains of what could have been one of the country's grandest Georgian houses. An impressive set of stone arches is all that remains of the house built 200 years ago by local MP Sir Francis Popham, but a couple of paintings show the building in its prime. If they are to be believed, it could have been mistaken for Buckingham Palace.

When I look at the picture of Sir Francis Popham in the thumbnail, I see a fine smile and friendly eyes. Maybe he was a very likable person.

From the U.S. to and I love watching Time Team. I've watched every one and now I have to wait for them to upload. They are starting a new Time Team but it won't be the same without Mick and Victor. I just hope Phil will be apart of it.

Yeah, that's pretty cool, but I live in the German Rhine region, and we have castles. Lots of castles. Towers and castles everywhere. You can find castle ruins pretty much on every hike, in the forests or in the vinyards. Some have actual crows circling around them. Growing up, I found it normal, but one day my cousin from LA visited us for a few weeks - and that's when I realized that it's actually pretty special, especially for Americans.

We are easily satisfied with artifacts that remain, mostly stone. Ours having been wood are largely gone.

In 1606 John Popham sponsored one of the 2 first British colonization attempts in the Americas to what is now Popham Beach, Maine ,USA at the mouth of the Kennebec River. It lasted until 1608. It was lead by George Popham and Raleigh Gilbert ,the nephew of Sir Walter Raleigh. Popham ,Gilbert and their men built the first ship made in the Americas, later sailing it back to England. More info on Google.The other attempted location was the more famous Jamestown that failed later.

In New Mexico we only find people going back 1500 years. I go out and visit ruins 800 years old. I do not dig I walk in places where clay pots and sometimes skeletons are visible. Some places are high on loose slopes. I sat in a room I feel certain I was the only visitor in 750 years. The roof had fallen in at corner of a front room and had been sealed up. Pots and a wood ladder. The walls covered in clay. Light from places make for a soft cool still room with the summer heat outside. I returned in winter and spent the night the place over heated with the fire I built and it snowed ankle deep that night. I was trespassing on county property at the time but the land is Indian now. I’d like to build a home using 800 years old principles.

@@brownhermit1399 as it happens we own 40 acres and I am building a geodesic dome. The dome aria is a hill now and will be leveled by shovel causing a 20’ vertical wall of compacted sands and rock. I plan to mine the hill out and accomplish the quiet cool place I wish I could visit now. I don’t mess with Indian land it’s not an American court system. The dome is 5/8” rebar and 0.6 mm plastic designed for greenhouses. The inside will be in the hill down a ramp and deep. The low placement will keep the bedrooms cool and quiet. The level place will block an arroyo. I plan to line the bottom with a pond liner and have a nice water collection. The dome might rise this fall with the pond and no rooms. The dome will be 20’ across and 14’ high in the center. Now I work out of 120’ sq. shed when I visit. Thank you for your interest.

Near River Svern near Forest o Dean? Or Dal Riata lands nearer shores where 1/2 Giant DNA, ? Irish Rovers would x Scotland with cattle?)

Think Minotian era folkes were truly pros at their crafts, engineering, mining/ geology etc. But Egypt era, folkes were refugees who ran with lil time to escape with lil tech or wealth. But both groups "Brave-♡ $ouls, who deserve to be honored! For millennium o self sacrifice, rare commodity in any era!)

*Is it just me, or ... "?"* This was the most confusing production. *To follow their, overreactions* to a Family's efforts to maintain and modernize their Home and Property, with constant *"judging of the generational Heads of Family",* reached an unnerving. Honestly, there were various members of this "Time Team" that display the "essence of the British" to an intoxicating measure. Quite self ego and a most arrogant method of speaking. (...and in sharing my thought perspective, I consciously make efforts to avoid judging the speakers I reference.) Mercy, taxing exercise.
