Who else remembers Planet Minecraft?

Oh man. This brings back memories. I used PMC a lot when I was super young. I remember wanting to be a moderator even though I really had no business being one at 9 years old. I was friends with creeperCarole and Cyprezz on Steam. I was there when they first started doing skin and build competitions. For one of the first competitions, the theme was inanimate objects and in my infinite wisdom, the skin I made was... a coffee cup. Literally just a coffee cup. A flat white skin with a somewhat darker top to represent the "inside" of the cup. I was a genius. Another time, in the chatroom, a friend and I were talking and I mentioned that I didn't like the show "My Little Pony". Back then it was at its height, and a moderator pulled my friend and I into a private chatroom and said to me "Say it again. Tell me that you dislike MLP." Me, being the smartass that I was, considered it to be an authority telling me what to do, so I said that, and I was banned for a week from the chatroom. Good times.

This is a great concept. A website as old as PMC has got to have a wealth of cool stories to find.

PMC is a shell of its former self. Its 90% paid content now, which is fine, but its all subscriptions to patreon. So if you wanted to get multiple maps, we are talking about on average 40-50$ per month to pay to multiple creators. Its gotten annoying tbh, this over monetization of the community. Like I get that creators need to compensated for their work, but monthly subscriptions are no the way. Now all the good texture packs, mods, worlds, ect.. are all pay walled behind 10$+ subs to patreon or boosty or whatever. Its just sad. People criticize the market place prices for Bedrock, but ngl Java is just as bad in some cases.

That Minecraft interest chart is deceptive, because the number of total *active* Minecraft users has doubled since 2019, and rivals and even surpasses League of Legends some months.

ngl i'm finding the background video pretty distracting this time. the breath mod is really strange for one and i can't stop wondering what's up with it and not thinking about what you're talking about. you zipping around some random world with an elytra seems to have nothing to do with what you're talking about and again distracts from what you're saying. i'm kind of enjoying it in a brainrot sort of way but it's not what i think of with your videos; ie your videos if you talking while standing next to a campfire or fishing or whatever.. just a thought
