Every Nintendo home console has had at least two Legend of Zelda games released during its life cycle, all but the Super Nintendo that is, but what if there IS another Super Nintendo Zelda game that was previously lost to time?
Check out BSZeldaLegends for more info.

I get the novelty with the BS-X, and I even support the idea of looking forward to going home to streamed games the way they did it. However, after a period of time the full game should have been made available on that platform, it’s just ignorant to allow it to be lost to time when you’re done streaming it. Very proud of the crew that so painstakingly brought this back for us all!

Gaming fans come to the rescue once again to bring us a piece of gaming history that we would never have been able to experience otherwise. Gotta respect the amount of effort that was poured into this recreation and the many mods and recoding jobs that have been done for many other games.

I've been working on this video for a few months now on and off, slowly refine the style and improving my edits. This video I think is some of the best work that I've put out and also a glimpse into what the Zelda Documentary will look like when done. I really hope you guys enjoy and if you could leave a LIKE and share this video around it would mean the world to me.

Nope. However this style of presentation and editing is going to be very close to what the Zelda documentary will be like. A lot of the research that went into this video will also be featured in the Zelda Documentary however there was so much stuff I figured it needed its own video.

The version they have now is not the version as it was created, thus the original is lost. This one is a faithful recreation from the data that was collected from at least a few different cartridges. It would be like taking a car from the 1800s and changing out all the parts from other cars of the same make and model that were found, then changing something about the car that makes it impossible to drive today (like leaded gas I imagine?). It would not be the same car from that time, but a faithful recreation with changes to make it work today - the original car would be lost to time and what would be driven would be a memory of that car at best. Same with this version of the game. Can't play it as it was intended, so the game as it was created is lost.

Mario sanon Depends if you include Virtual Console. If so then the Wii has the most with all the GameCube games, VC games, and Skyward Sword.
@OmniscientWarrior
@OmniscientWarrior 6 жыл бұрын
+Mario Sanon Master Quest was originally released on the N64. Including rereleases to a system as part of the franchise release to a console is misleading and cheating. But you are correct about Twilight Princess, that was released originally on the Game Cube. But since it was so close to the Wii release, they made a version of it for that as well... a version that had reduced graphics and flipped everything over because apparently Nintendo think that basic movements with the left hand is too hard for right handed people to comprehend. Later, they made a release where you can pick if lefty or righty.

Actually there were similar services in the US long before this. In the early 1980s, there were services for both the Atari 2600 and the Intellivision that allowed for games to be downloaded over a digital connection. The 2600 had GameLine, which allowed you to download games over a dial-up connection, while Intellivision had PlayCable, which allowed games to be distributed over cable and satellite systems. Even Sega of America was doing this stuff in North America, partnering with Time Warner to provide a similar service for Genesis owners through the Sega Channel service.

That mode is officially called "2nd Quest" while yes its technically the same thing, The main reason I chose Master Quest is because I figured more people would be familiar with that term. I'd be rather surprised if Nintendo doesn't have the files for this somewhere... They're really quite fastidious about keeping things. There's a reason they could release Starfox 2 in a more complete state than the leaked ROMS... They even had an original manual and box art for it, that they chose not to use for the release they made. The content of their archives is probably pretty extensive... Especially considering you're talking about stuff from the 90's... Not their early work. By all accounts Nintendo has archival copies of the packaging and cartridges for 3rd party titles too, not just their own games. I'd be very surprised if they had actually gotten rid of this stuff...

@awesomefaceprod
@awesomefaceprod 6 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure people had dial up internet at the time, for consoles though this and Sega Channel were probably the first steps towards what we have today in terms of digital distribution of games.
@nateschultz8973
@nateschultz8973 6 жыл бұрын
The modern internet was still developing, sure, but many things were attempted in various ways over the years. The satellite internet elements that are in place have essentially no relation to this particular scheme. The SV was largely a technological dead end. Download to a specific receptor that would display the media for a limited time was a concept that was tried in many ways for years. Patents demonstrate this, if you're curious. ("Interactive television" is a good search term. If I could recall some of the product or company names, I would note them, but they're mostly long defunct. "InterAction" seems familiar. DirectTV is one of these that survived, arguably. It uses a similar content delivery scheme.) The Internet-as-entertainment idea gathered billions of dollars of investment in the 90s, if not trillions. This was one of many attempts to create interactive tv. Its biggest claim to fame isn't being first or particularly innovative, it's being allied with Nintendo so their content was better than most.

Going further back, the PLATO mainframe system, which had online games, chat rooms and forums, and even dating functions written for it. Developed in the 1960's; some of the first computer games were made (behind the backs of college admins) for PLATO systems and hidden under names like Pedit5. It was more a local intranet than internet, (and no one outside of colleges and military had them) but still served the same functions for it's communities as later BBS and the modern internet did and does. The main difference being that the network now extends to people's homes.

Link has a modern hat or is it his hair? Edit: Why hasn't Nintendo decide to revive this back? It looks like a good zelda game and add to the timeline of fallen hero.
@JJAB91

Because Nintendo themselves really don't consider it a "real" Zelda game. Its story isnt canon, its gameplay and world just ripped from ALTTP and its pretty much forgotten about.

Ah the simple times when we didn't have downloadable games, or remasters, or any of that stuff. No extra fees, no pay to access internet... There was also no internet modems for Gameboy colors, and exclusive Japan only pokemon because of said modems not being accessible in America... Nope good old fashioned gaming, uncorrupted... right? RIGHT!?

Sure, yeah, but Nintendo is still releasing full games without required DLC's or additional patches. Yeah, shitty game companies use microtransactions now, but there were always shitty game companies around back in the day who also put out half assed products and charged a premium for them.

I liked this vid a lot. One main point I would like you to consider is when you are putting 2 music clips over each other. I can see what you're going for, but it's really weird and kinda feels like a mistake. So don't do that. Whenever you introduce new music either have it transition or just do away with whatever default music you're using completely. This will make these transitions a lot more tasteful and lend to serving the video a lot better.

Moobu yep. Started doing it religiously with Breath of the Wild, and it really bugs me. I uploaded three silly videos of Breath of the Wild where I didn’t even use capture software, just a shitty phone video recording, and they still copyrighted like.. two of the three. Claimed the BOTW music in the Thunderblight Ganon fight, and I believe they claimed footage from a cutscene as well. Even though the phone kept moving and didn’t ever really get a clear, straight moment of footage. It’s pretty shitty. They’ve been doing it on Mario Odyssey as well. I don’t understand. Why don’t they want people to upload LPs of these incredible games? They’re fairly new releases, too. LPs are a fucking fantastic method of FREE advertising for Nintendo’s content. I know for a fact I’m not the only one who bought Breath of the Wild as a result of seeing LPs showing off how great it is.
