I changed a Fuji X20 for a Leica D-Lux 7 and have no regrets. A flippy screen would have been nice on the D-Lux8 sure enough. I also have a Lumix GX80 and in reality that is the better camera. I also have a G9 and a Sony A7III which are ‘different’ to M4/3 cameras and are not always ‘better’. There are times where more compact, lighter and/or more discreet cameras and lenses are better suited and give great results.

Good points you make Todd. Despite the current market interest in smaller fixed lens high quality cameras (Q3, X100VI) it would take a munafacturer some time to react and develop a product. The recent S9 was, I believe, a wasted opportunity for Panasonic with the target vlogger market. Probably appeared to be the right thing to do 18 months ago! I own the LX100 mk i and mk ii and love the design and operation of the small camera that can produce decent results. I also own the Sony RX1R mkii and this is another camera where there is some market demand. I guess that given the reduced global sales of digital ILC cameras (currently reported at under 8M units for 2023) manufacturers will continue to target products on higher priced, higher margin products but as you mentioned - they cant do everything at once and there is a lag between market demand and development and production.

Interesting points. Just curious, what were you filming this video with? I noticed some moiré on your pants. Were you filming in 1080p?
