I like how when Acura was developing the second generation NSX, they didn’t rush it. They paid great detail to precision, and it shows. The NSX an elite sports car.

I wish this video would’ve hit KZfaq three years ago. I’ve been in the PMC and the build room at Anna. The “hand built” marketing was there in the initial launch media. But this video really pushes that narrative a lot better.

Acura and Honda are at the cutting edge of automotive technology.

This video explains the reportedly $90K cost of this engine. I wish this 3.5L matched the Ford GT’s 3.5L in horsepower. A NA V8 option would be a better choice, torque and sound. However I’m impressed with this NSX engine! NSX GT3: the only “bone stock” engine on the grid.

Very cool look behind the scenes. It's been cool to watch/hear about the development of the new NSX from Ted and others through the NSX club and at various events over the years. The NC1 NSX is not an original NSX, but is it's own special thing for sure. I've had the pleasure of riding in one a couple of times on different race tracks and it'll make you re-calibrate your brain with respect to what a car is capable of.

And that, boys and girls, is why the NSX is “overpriced”. It really isn’t. You’re paying for the pedigree. Honda could have saved a lot of money by turbocharging their mainstream V6 (e.g. MDX, Pilot).

I think all of this is great. If Acura really wants this to be an everyday super car, then it should provide the everyday safety systems that a Civic has. Why can’t Acura go all the way on this car? I know there are leaks of a type R for this time in 2021 but is power really the problem? Maybe, maybe not. I am personally waiting for a convertible and I hope it is electronically equivalent to at least a Civic and have the latest head unit. A halo should have no holds barred.

I like the NSX and Acura, but honestly, this isn’t the everyday Acura. The company’s been promoting this one for roughly 8 years now. It’s been siphoning the visual sizzle of the NSX for too long. But no other Acura models look like it. They lack the ‘it’ factor of the NSX. This one model is the diamond and the others are nicely shaped chunks of coal. Bring the CL back and the Legend back. It’s time.

At 8:43 he talks about balance. But truth is a 75 degree V6 engine is not balanced. The vector forces won’t cancel each other out. It’s not perfectly balanced like an inline 6 or flat 6 is. I guess that’s why they need different weighted bolts to offset the vibrations.

I remember watching one of the KZfaq Video, there’s an owner that said the Nsx never has any issues comparing to his McLaren and Gtr. Fact.

Great video. The second generation NSX engine is truly a masterpiece. However the video completely glosses over the fact that Cosworth in the UK does the casting and machine work for the block on heads. Anna just does final assembly and Dino break-in/testing. Also this engine was developed by a combination of Honda people in japan and Cosworth people in the UK. It’s even possible this engine design is based on a Cosworth built and designed Opal engine used in the 90s in Turing car racing.

Acura messed up by selling only 300 NSX's because people with money are just buying the car to sit in a garage!!!! NOBODY is going to see these cars on the road and it's sad!!! In my life I have seen 1 NSX 2nd Gen when I was in high school I saw a few of the 1st Gens and they were head turning! The few cars made of the 2016-2022 NSX's are NOT on the road much at all! There's a few but dang I have been saving up for 3 years and I'm almost there and now I'm worried about buying a car that may break because they aren't drivin enough to know of any issues to fix year after year. I'm still going to buy one and it's to drive not to sit in a garage. I really love this car, I hope it has the dependability that Honda is known for. I just wish they would have made 1,000 NSX Type S, with the population in America now still makes it a leprechaun! I'm hoping to be driving one here this summer!!!

I think it’s a shame they made the NSX so expensive. It starts to get in the price range where you think about other exotics. You can buy a 2 year old Huracán for about similar price as a new NSX. And with new Corvette at $60k it’s hard to justify.

Let’s hope the NSX is made better than my 2018 Accord 2.0T Touring. The 10-speed transmission Honda and Acura use is prone to rough and slow shifts, long delays engaging reverse, and jerky behavior when driving up and downhill. I had bubbles in the paint, rust in the door jambs, rattles everywhere. Honda would not send anyone from their corporate office to look at my car, saying I had to rely on the incompetent dealer service people who claimed “all new accords shift terribly”... and basically said I was SOL. Honda/Acura has changed from what they used to be.

If the engine was perfectly internally balanced from the get-go ( like Lexus ) they wouldn’t have to ‘ half ass ‘ balance it ‘ after assembly ‘

Maybe a Targa top or a V8, or a manual could save it. Otherwise brings nothing to the table at that price point. A new vantage is cheaper for Gods sake

They definitely didn't copy any of the philosophy which made the NSX a legend. the original NSX wasn't made to be accessible to mediocre drivers. It was purity of driving feel and neutral handling. The original is in high demand today (although they didn't sell well either); they can't give the new one away. Maybe a combustion only GT3 version with real brakes and a manual would get some attention?
