It was a flick. Originally done in Germany. Based on that actual voyage of Christopher Columbus. Added a lot of fantasy elements in it.

This is probably my favorite part of the movie. I think the Roman part stands out the most. I like the way that it's willing to combine the sound of chimes with an atmosphere of danger, almost immediately thereafter.

Hellbound Iscariot imagine a giant sea serpent that surprisingly wanted to be friends and could talk. I've seen cases in other media where someone befriends a big monstrous creature. Like Nessie (voice of Phyllis Logan) became friends with Freddie the Frog AKA FR07 (voice of Ben Kingsley) in the movie: Freddie the Frog. Or another version of the Loch Ness Monster named Crusoe by the Scottish boy who raised it.

Ok I won't lie and I'll give this piece of shit movie SOME credit, Dom Deluise did do a pretty decent job on this song and it kind of had a good beat to it, but the film still SUCKS!!!

The real dark parts were that conflict with the Swarm Lord. Didn't really know what a swarm was back then. I was about 7 years old and already was into intense action shows with various creepy foes. Swat Kats, TMNT, et al.

Yeah. That's when I first got familiar with the term when I saw this movie. We didn't truly know the mechanics of it for centuries. It's parts of solar radiation being dispersed by the magnetic field, which is more noticeable near the poles. Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. There's also Aurora Australis or Southern Lights.

Of all the things that this movie got wrong, they did manage to portray Christopher Columbus accurately. After all, he was a complete moron that never discovered America and was controversial even back when he was alive. The only thing this movie left out was he had over 50,000 natives slaughtered on different islands over gold they rarely had outside the Taino.

Chris was singing the song as a means of lifting the crew's spirits and raising morale. the fact that they didn't kill him then shows that it was working. besides, we only know that at the time they were THINKING of hanging him, they weren't sure yet if they'd actually do it.

zakfett92 but then the song’s ending lyrics unintentionally makes them like him less. The Viking ghost ship they encountered later convinced them to hang Chris. The Swarm Lord unintentionally saved Columbus by trying to kill the crew.

Crew Member One: Yeah, but he needs to get back on them. Or, else I am going pull that spyglass out of his crouch while his hat is eating his head.
