Jon would be classified as a warlock. He thought he was a wizard so maxed out Intelligence instead of Charisma which explains why his powers are so weak.

While both Jon and Elias serve the Eye their methods of "information gathering" are incredibly different as seen when comparing Elias aggressively taking the statement directly from Daisy's mind leaving her a nearly sobbing wreck to Jon's uncomfortable prodding questions that you cannot seem to stop yourself from answering and without spoiling too much Elias joined the Eye because he witnessed an act of incredible violence meanwhile Jon joined the Eye because he hated the thought of being a victim of an unseen manipulatior.

@@faxonii It's not entirely unearned - the topics of the comments under every episode so far are almost completely disconnected from the actual story and themes of the podcast, and instead just hyperfixate on fangirling over the characters and headcanons and really minor things that honestly aren't that important. I have no problem with representation of any kind, but I seriously wish everyone would stop obsessing over it every single time it appears - it's not a crucial aspect of the story.

@@f_mva idk, if Id have to guess, it'd probably in the leg or in the stomach. My reasoning is that the knife or whatever was used to inflict the wound must be low enough that on didn't notice it at first, that's why when Michael stabbed him we didn't here any struggle or something. Ik the story doesn't really care about these types of things, but I hope Michael didn't miss any major arteries, the cleanup would have been horrible, since most of the characters here seem to be a bit queasy. It's just a hunch, tho.

(also kind of a personal fave, but sometimes i think about how they might be (or are) mutually "feeding", a limb that lets you record information, a hand, might be an important, painful sort of destruction for someone/thing like Jon here, though it's nice because it's not the most important, and he does deal with the results ok. also from the conversation: Jon: "give me some information that's actually useful or just kill me!" Jude: "NOW you're sounding like a REAL Archivist!" : )

I would imagine it’s somewhat instinctual at this point. He’s been building up the strength of this ability for a bit now. This is just the first time the audience is blatantly told to actually pay attention to it. The first proper, noticeable compulsion I’ve been able to note was back in “Hard Shoulder.” Daisy didn’t really want to give her statement, but she did anyway, and seemed shaken afterwards. But even before then, all the live statement givers have been very forthcoming and detailed in their accounts. The presence of the Archivist compels the information out of them. And we can even see the difference between Jon and someone else taking a statement. Look at how easily Melanie got into her statement with Jon, and how fumbling and frustrated she was when trying to start a statement with Martin, when she came to talk about being shot in India. (right before being given a job) (Also there’s a later episode where all the assistants try to take people’s statements, and it’s hilarious how hard it is for them. lol)

I don't think he could help it. The drawback to his power. He needs to gain knowledge. Even if he is hurt in the process. She was willing to tell him where Michael Crue is, but she wanted him to shake her hand. He knew full well what would happen. He just felt compelled to, to gain that knowledge. At least that is how I am taking it.
