Although there's a slight difference btn the 2; This woman was twisted by her desire towards self preservation, but joker was twisted by the sheer enjoyment of evil... she was redeemable, because her desire is knowable and her love for her sons, daughter + husband is proof of her conscience. Should she have been punished? Absolutely & severely. Killed? Definitely justified by natural justice. Punished + Redeemed? All the better. Plus the beings she killed will always reincarnate living 6-10k yrs on average, in an endless cycle but she will be stuck in this eroding sick state for eternity. That's a bit too much. But I'm not 1000+ yrs old & I've never lost a loved one either. Only person who deserves a chance was her eldest son. He finally repented. Still her daughter remained the same. There are people who are redeemable and others are pure evil. It's plain and simple. Not everyone deserves a second chance.

@@keithmugisha5205 i don't know if they will change the storyline of the second novel like the first one or not but the second novel is talking about their's son Yuan Qi who began his lesson with Lord Dong Hua at "Da Zhi mountain" (if you still remember at the end of the first season they are talking about sending Yuan Qi to Lord Dong Hua) the wicked mother will die in the novel and the daughter just helping Yuan Qi to retrieve the new phoenix soul that he accidently killed (Yuan Qi's mount) and they are not the villian in second once

She silenced the daughter so the queen can't hear her speak anymore

She will also live the rest of her life full of regrets. That's one of the worst punishment for me. She had some concience, but was more evil.
