Constitutional silver as well as bullion silver and gold will allow you to have a medium of exchange when cash becomes trash. Not just milk but many necessities. But be forewarned, silver and gold will sustain for awhile but ultimately bartering and self-sufficiency will be needed for long-term survival, period. To barter, you need to establish relationships with neighbors and develop trust. And like many facets in preparedness, if you wait until a bad situation begins, it is too late! The main reason I collect gold and silver Hoosier Stacker is because of the design and history. I dont collect the same type of coin, not for the weight or ounces. Premiums dont matter to me. I collect coins because of the stories, the history - maybe its a coin that honors important persons in American history like Benjamin Franklin, or Abraham Lincoln. This is priceless to me, something that money cannot buy.

That's really neat. I'm not a stacker but back during the boom in 2011 I learned about coin roll hunting for "junk" silver so I started to do it just because I thought the older coins looked cooler than our current ones.

Older coins are absolutely more cool than current. And current has more weight because they have less wear. So I stack both.

If it gets that bad that you need to use silver coins to buy a gallon of milk I’m 100% sure there won’t be any milk to barter.
