Because you actually have to restart a game that you played before with no way of transferring your data over to your new console, you're going to complain about that? That was literally expected.

Sounds like most of these "MAJOR FLAWS" only apply if you've played Xenoverse 2 to death. Which, I haven't, and I value portability because I actually leave my house, so I still think I'm going for the Switch-version.

This video clearly assumes you already have another console and already own a copy of Xenoverse 2 and bases its review around "Do I want it again" instead of "how does a 1st run on this compare to a 1st run on the original".

Not everyone has played this game before though....

Everyone talks down about motion controls but remember, they're optional. Also no one expected to be able to transfer your save to the Switch version, and this version may be $50, but you're practically getting 2 games in one.

My son has wanted this game. We were going to get the PS 4 version but once I heard it was coming out on the Switch, I decided to wait. He didn't understand it at first, but now that it is out on the Switch and I am going to download it soon, he will understand the bigger picture. Bringing it with us wherever we go is the biggest difference. With that, he doesn't care if the visuals are lower quality. He can play it at home or bring it with him without missing a beat.

Question: is there any way to unlock Trunks' regular CC jacket (not distressed)? The pc version requires you to have Xenoverse 1 to transfer it to XV2. And my favorite character to play as is a Trunks clone I made. Fun to see him go SSJ3.

Dang, don't call it an "add-on" cause many people liked the first Xenoverse, so it's cool that the story is there. I'd consider that a hefty bonus, especially if you never picked up Xenoverse until the sequel. And about DLC in general, I feel you should've made sure your information was accurate before bagging on it. And you can't blame them for charging more when cartridges are more expensive to produce. They at least offer faster loading times. Motion controls aren't a gimmick this time. I'd say more "optional" since it's not shoved down your throat besides the very small tutorial on how to use them. A gimmick is when that's the only way to play for the sake of "innovation" but that's not the case here. Same thing with your mentioning of portability being a gimmick. That's not forced at all and you could play the thing docked the whole time you own it if you want to. Only one game requires it outside the dock for use of the touchscreen. Also, no offense, but you listed dumb reasons for preferring the console versions. Besides the main factor of 30fps on everything but 1v1, I thought the Switch version was fine. Most people like 30fps, so I wouldn't say the Switch is inferior for that. It does effect inputs though, I will agree. Maybe a 720p/60fps option in the future would be beneficial. I'd prefer it since this is a fighting game after all.

You're exactly right, it's made for people who didn't get it first run. I'm going to play this on the go because I love the Switch. I want to show that there's support for Dragon ball games on the Switch so hopefully Fighter Z comes out for it.

You're complaining about having to unlock everything? You're just saying that because you've already played the game for hours and hours on another system. This game is NOT for those people. It's for people who haven't played Xenoverse 2 yet. Like me. Why would I want to buy the game if everything was already unlocked? I'd have no reason to play through the game.

I've played this game I've done every PQ I've done almost every thing. But when I got the switch version and I went to try to get potential unleashed I could not Z rank them all? Don't know how I did it last time and I've done it so many different ways about 12 times

If you go to the eshop and find xenoverse 2 you can unlock most, if not all characters by downloading the "unlock chars" dlc. Like for awareness

This game is not cheaper on main consoles. It's cheaper on Switch. It's still $59.99 at most places.

Honestly, the Nintendo Switch version was my version of choice due to three key things. 1) I can play PQs locally with someone else who has the game and a Switch, not only online (great for roommates or hanging out). 2) I can play it on a TV or on the Go. 3) I don't have to install the game onto my Nintendo Switch unlike I would have to with my PlayStation 4.

Honestly, the only flaw is some lag during the moments you explore the city. It's a complete version with the addition of motion controls which makes it a little more enjoyable in the fun side, the A.I. it's actually smarter (allies will ult/cast supers right after you do it making 3 Frieza squad a beast, enemies will gang up on you combining their ults way often in high difficulty PQs instead of just that one challenge from the other time patrols alone AND they'll switch (AH) their aim at you as well so you won't focus on a single enemy only making it actually harder) than the other versions, is portable and has local multiplayer as well. I do have the same game on pc for a while but it got less than a week to reach lvl 90 (with also the help of a new NPC that gives u levels in exchange of zeni till lvl 80 and TP medals from 80 to max) so the only boring part was to redo both campaigns again (for the forth time, actually). Also the Online mode has a new feature to directly add friends in your premade rooms from your Switch friend's list instead to exit the game and select them from the client and ppl there are actually playing online as well so you can finally have a room filled in less than 30 minutes unlike on pc which i had to wait even hours before someone would decide to come and STAY. The only real thing missing from the other versions is Steve Aoki NPC dlc which made u change the Cotton City song with his 2 original tracks.

I don`t see how unlocking everything again, is a major flaw, if the game is on a new console, I don`t see why everything would be unlocked for you from the start, especially if you`re a new player, I wouldn`t mind getting the Switch Version of Xenoverse 2, I have a friend that never played XV2 and he plans on buying the game.

First time playing for me. The Switch having a version is what made me want it. Not that it's different, I just didn't feel like getting it when it first came out for my PS4. Also, the SWITCH is a home console ANNNND a portable. Just sayin!

See for me, I never played Xenoverse 1 because I heard 2 was coming out. Then I found out that the Switch version of 2 was coming out. Having the story of 1 FOR FREE is totally worth it for me. So this is THE BEST version of the game for me and other people coming to the series for the first time. I can also play it while my wife watched Netflix on the PS4 and we can still be in the same room. Thank you for the review though. Also, this game is perfect to play portably at work between breaks or lunch because you can pick it up and put it down with ease.

The one thing that frustrates me is that I don't know if we are going to be able to get the TP medal shop items that were available only for one weekend, or the tournament prices like Paragus'Armor, etc.

I got it since I'm a Nintendo Fan. I got it on PC too last year but this Version is for the Nintendo Fans who want to play on there platform of choice. And for those who want to play it on the go.

I already have Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on my PS4 but I haven't even beat it. Or really played it to death like some might have. If Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is literally the same game then that's perfect. This is a port not Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Be happy there even was that small bit of extra content. If you want to get the switch version it's probably because you care about the portability. If you don't care about the portability then you most likely don't even own a switch. Sure the game is cheaper on PS4 and XBOX1 but is it portable?? Nope! That's why you pay extra.

The major flaw on the Switch is that you can't transfer your save files from Xbox One or PS4? The last time I check, there weren't any cloud saves across all the platforms. The portability is a gimmick? Here I thought that is one of the major reason why people are re-purchasing it for the Switch. The ability to play a console quality game on the go. Not everyone is a a hermit and would love to bring their gaming either on work or while traveling. Oh and if you haven't bought or played the game yet and are a perfectly normal adult who likes to game, highly advisable that you buy it on the Switch because the "gimmick" this "reviewer" called a flaw (portability) is actually the selling point of it. I came from Ndkauba's video and here I thought there was some real flaws here, too bad that there weren't any. Just some pointless rambling of someone who played it previously and expecting something impossible (cross-platform cloud saves). Search Google for "Can I transfer the data of XV1 XBOX ONE to XV2 on PS4?" and you'll find the answer. You know what is cooler? Playing it on the go and being able to also play it at home.
