I'm realize that I'm different in that I wasn't impressed at all that they filmed at Everest and I DO think that they could have and should have used CGI, a soundstage and green screen for all of the mountain scenes. They still could have paid the greatest amount of respect to the expedition that scaled the mountain without subjecting the actors to suffering and pain. The argument can be made that that's what the members of the expedition had to endure but it's still just a movie and it's still just acting, then by the logic that the actors have to endure the same amount of pain and suffering as the characters that they play from whatever background and whatever walk of life, then that would apply to other movies as well and thankfully, it doesn't. It's like the famous exchange that Dustin Hoffman had with Laurence Olivier about how he didn't shower, sleep and change clothes for four days to get into character for the movie Marathon Man and Laurence Olivier told him to just try acting. I loved the movie but I don't agree with the notion that the film still couldn't have been realistic and paid respect to the expedition if it used CGI, a soundstage and green screen. There have been movies that used CGI and green screen and soundstages to create environments where it would've been too dangerous or impossible to do it for real like The Perfect Storm, 300, Watchmen, The Legend Of Tarzan, The 2016 live-action Jungle Book movie, Aquaman, the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the live-action Little Mermaid movie and many, many, many others, it's okay to fake it, in my opinion, if it keeps people safe and if it doesn't expose them to danger. If people disagree with me on that, that's fine but again, that's just my own opinion because I don't think it's necessary to put the actors through all of that to tell a respectful and good story. Authenticity is fine but if it's actually dangerous, which the Everest shoot clearly was and people are suffering-which they clearly were, then it's going too far( which is how I feel about how The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio was made, the stories of what the cast and crew had to endure are truly insane and horrifying). No film is worth putting people through that kind of an experience and it's not worth someone's life, it's not worth their health and it's not worth their safety. This kind of filming is taking authenticity and method acting a little too far. But at any rate, it IS a fantastic movie and I don't want anyone to take my thoughts the wrong way, I can't stress it enough, it's just my own personal opinion.

@@8chk92 Hi I have never seen the film, but I completly egree about characters of many "the nature users" for building their EGO. Everybody who reality loves the natur does not need any publicity. I know personaly few real climbers. They prefere to admire mountains, the "friendship on the rope" and coming back home to their lived people gratefully.

@Paddy le Blanc The disaster could also be argued to be due to the politics of the climbing sherpas on the mountain. Or due to the weak climbers demanding to be carried to the top. I dont think business competition put anyone on top of that mountain.

In the unavoidable situation, I was filmed with CG, but I think that other scenes showed a lot through local location shooting. As with all action and disaster movies, I think some CG shoots should be considered in the audience's perspective. Thank you for watching the video.

I might be different from a lot of other people who liked the film in that I thought that the entire film could've and should've been done with CGI, a soundstage and green screens and background plates. Where I hear the stories of the suffering and pain that the film crew had to endure while filming the movie and how treacherous the conditions were and how people were getting altitude sickness and how they were so cold, they couldn't even think straight and remember their lines and do a scene properly, I'm sorry, to me, I think that's unnecessary and I'm not impressed by it at all. That's like the stories I hear about The Revenant and how the actors were so cold they couldn't even think straight and move their lips to say their lines and the cameras were actually breaking down because of the extreme harshness of the weather. Subjecting people to suffering and danger just to make a movie and entertainment feel more real, in my mind is wrong. The promotion of Nepal and telling the stories of these real amazing human beings is important and the movie did do that and it was a great film but it still could've told the story of the expedition without exposing the actors to suffering, pain and danger. No movie is worth someone's life, safety or health. They took it too far in trying to make the film authentic, I feel.

None of them would have made it without the sherpas. Especially that high society chick.

They can't conquer our M.T everest because to conquer M.T everest you have to ask permission to M.T everest itselves.Without the permission of M.T everest even sherpa's cannot go up there so never imagine of other going up there and conquiring M.t everest.

@@paulmahy I don’t think people see them as heroes. Rob Hall seemed like an amazing guy, someone who was well experienced and clearly had a record to show he was one of the best at the time. As someone who had summit Everest like 5 times, I’m sure he didn’t doubt himself in his abilities. In my opinion, if that storm didn’t unexpectedly hit them, I think they would of made it. Also, these people have to be mentally prepared that they could die up there. I also think that even if rob didn’t help, or push (no one really knows what happened) Doug to summit, he would of died anyways. He was gone already, his body was giving up, there’s no way Rob could of gotten him down safely but because of Rob’s moral, he didn’t want to leave him. That’s the part that people admire about him. Hundreds of people would have abandoned them but Rob tried his best. But I agree with you, Rob had his set of rules, it was for a good reason and he decided to break them. But also the other part of his group who were already descending died due to exposure, that wasn’t Rob’s fault. It’s the storm that messed up their expedition too. Scott Fischer pushed himself too much, his body couldn’t handle it, his death had more to do with ego, I think.

@@brunosmith6925 The plight of the sherpas and the ecological toll on the mountain are the real concerns today, I think, rather than wealthy adventurers getting themselves killed up there.

@@SuperRobertoClemente It's definitely a selfish ego thing. Modern mountaineering techniques and equipment - and the fact that Everest is awash with fixed ropes, make it less challenging, and brings the conquest into the reach of wealthy egoists. Sadly, companies have seen fit to exploit this fad... There are numerous organisations who will get you to the top of that mountain (at a price). The real hero's of Everest - The Sherpa people and all the porters - get very little, yet are burdened with great responsibility and face enormous danger. It is a very sad situation.

@@veronicavatter6436 He wasn't "asleep," he had barely survived getting down from the peak in a hurricane-strength storm! He was also not a trained guide-- it was absurd to ask him to help, and that's why no one did.
