Great video!! Loved watching the technical side of this track. Spenser brown has the same methodology with creating a quality track by simplifying the number of layers.

Love the series! It's really true. Start with the kernel of the idea and build out and around. Ot drives focus on ideas. I started doing this about year ago and really informs my production decisions and now I always seem to finish tracks relatively quickly so it's a golden tip. Shame I cant actually get signed on this label hahaha doesnt hurt to keep trying seeing afyer watching these great videos big thanks!

ricksto87 hey I completely agree with many things you said and KEEP TRYING! Maybe you and I should collaborate to get a Track signed on Anjunadeep. Loving Simon’s style, Jody and James (obviously 😎), Nox Vahn and Frost have been impressing me lately. Let me know...it could be random fate that we collaborate and both get our dreams (Anjunadeep signed release) to come true!

Hey Simon, what was the name of that filter at the end of the demo please? I've always just automated the EQ high pass to get that transition effect but your way looks a bit more efficient and easier to do. Cheers and wonderful tutorial btw. I use U-He Hive 2 and Diva as well as the $499 beast Omnisphere. That's weird you said you have to EQ the shit out of some of those Omnisphere sounds, I have to do the same. The Ambient Piano, for example, has way too much reverb and mids out of the box. Wonder if Spectrasonics has a suggestion box 😉

Oliver Clothes Off he’s using Ableton Live. You can try it for free for 30 days on Ableton’s website and it’s AWESOME.

Hey Simon! Love the vid. When you talk about writing bass on the sub 37...how do you get it to record midi notes? I usually just record the audio but wasn’t aware you could do that. Let me know if there is a way to record midi from the sub 37. Would love to do that in my tracks

Pretty sure you can see the bass notes in the Ableton session and this is sent via midi cable to midi in on the Sub 37. Presumably he ran it down to Audio at some point before the mix down.
