We all know the way Panchamda used the MAADAL in different notes in his classic number "TERE BINA JIYA JAYE NA".
I always wonder why the maadal had a very high octave ring to it. Panchamda's legendary Maadal player Ranjit Gazmer (Kanchabhai) had explained to me the contribution of a musician whose name we do not take much often - RIZRAM.
Do watch this video to know how much Team Pancham thought about the SOUND to be used in a song.
The three notes that were used to play along with the harmony chart of the song were C, D and E.
Do see till the end as to how only these three notes of the Maadal cover the whole spectrum of the song's harmony chart, which had a major transpose between the mukhda and the Antara. (The song is in two scales)

My heart wept yesterday after watching the single screen theatre Apollo (Pune) now lying unattended and getting dilapidated slowly. It was in the same theatre some 48 years ago that I had seen Ghar in the last show at 9.30pm. Suddenly, listening to the wording, my heart became heavy again..TERE BINA JIYA JAYE NA....

This is a song where rhythm and melodious vocal is so marvellously blended, only possible by Pancham. Great show by Panchamtantra. To me the song BAHUT DUR from the film HEERA PANNA appears to be similar with rhythm and vocal so well blended and so good to listen. Maybe, this song can also be analysed technically in a similar way, experts know. We only love and enjoy listening to these eternal creations of Pancham. Thanks to the channel. 👍👍👍

Wow...This on the spot creativity is possible by RDB ONLY...The playing of the percussion instrument..Madal as if the chords movements.. This song is very difficult too and it carries you in a different fanciful dreamlike scenario. We all are missing the BOSS

Use of Tivra madhyam G# was highlight of Pancham’s composition. here in antra he use Tivra Maddhyam and shuddha maddhyam

Angry with fate for why is it they are not creating such Genius like Pancham. We are so unfortunate to first of all lose Panchamda so early and then not getting more such music gems. Kudos to the team of Pancham and all other music directors without whom they would not have been able to create such kohinoor songs. And luckiest are those who has been able to atleast even be able to watch Pancham and team creating music and practicing it to perfection, so life of those who were part of Pancham's team automatically becomes worth. Even as a listener I consider myself lucky to be part of that generation who has been able to hear and appreciate the music of greats like Pancham which gave music to my life.

@@sanjayadmane2839 Absolutely right. But that was the problem. He was too ahead of his times. Real music lovers though recognised and appreciated and respected him and just loved his music. But a music director doesn't ask for money or laurels. He just dies for entire people to appreciate his music.

Gazmerji played the maadal. Rizramji played the tabla. That sound was layered. Madal being the main sound. (As per Gazmerji)

Just show me any other music director apart from RAHUL DEV BURMAN who made his presence in this four point mentioned below. 1. Kishore Kumar who was not a trained classical singer with him he recorded "mere Naina sawan bhado" based on raag shivranjani,then " jane Kya soch kar nahi gujra", don't forget that time it was single take not like today that you can sing a single word. 2. Made song in each & every possible way in music possible. 3. Out side musical instruments produce music with cold drink bottle,polish paper and other thing 4. Introduce many musical instruments in our music likes flenzer,paddle matka. I challenge just show me another music director that's include regional music director who matched all this 4 points I will agree pancham is not unique,but with prove please.🙏
