MORE, PLEASE. Such great, real world wisdom. From someone who started his civil engineering career here in the UK on the board drawing up Stoner 63 trigger groups and parts in his spare time. For me that's where that dream ended 32 years ago, as I has no "in" to the industry. I can tell you the degree/education etc. problems Mr Stoner discussed are sadly alive and well here in UK civil engineering... Thanks for this gem of a movie!!! AGAIN, MORE, PLEASE!

I had to look it up. The reason Garand has an accent is because his native language is French as in French Canadian. He became a US citizen in 1920, but never lost his accent.

Fabulous video, particularly the insights concerning degreed engineers vs. intuitive designers.

Eugene Stoner is the story of why college shouldnt matter as much as it does today. It can teach you everything except how to do your job at the highest level possible. Stoner was a shop guy who turned engineer and was better off for it.

great video! just imagine a world without Stoner, Kalashnikov, Uzi and Garand just imagine what abilities they would have today with the technology and tooling.

Uziel Gal is kind of unusual in that his gun was named after his first name, not his last name.

Excellent video! I really want to know what that plexiglass mechanism is at 00:33! Never knew that John Garand had an accent...does anyone know where it's from? He's Canadian, of course, but that's not a Canadian accent. Also, SOOOO true about designers vs. engineers, and the value of WORKING IN THE SHOP!

Meanwhile, the M4 uses a shorter barrel with a heavier cartridge. That means the high velocity that makes the 223 lethal is just not there. It works, but not as effective as a 20" m16

Looking forward to the real deets on the Knight silenced revolver rifle [as seen in _The X-Files_ at the end of the Lone Gunmen episode.] Truly a unique & niche product, but one that required thinking outside the box to come up with a solution.

The Army also added the forward assist which wasn't needed at all. It adds an ounce, holds dirt and can make the rifle malfunction if you jam a defective cartridge into the chamber.

222 rem or triple deuce was the cartridge the knocked the .219 Wasp off its podium as the choice for benchrest competitive shooting. The deuce still today with 40-52gr flat base bullets will outshoot the 223 inside 200 yards.
