The connection to Daniel is very important.. The wise men also probably were not just 3.. Herod would have rebuffed a small group of 3 men, but instead they were probably a large entourage that herod wouldnt dare attack. Also that they listened and heard God's warning to not return to herod. Also the wealth given as gifts was how Joseph could quickly go to Egypt. I know details arent given, but its easy to know what happened by knowing the historical context. Mary, I'm sure is who told mathew about visit and gifts, because mathew interviewed many people to get the full gospel. Stars were given as signs.. which tells me God knew from Creation His plan.. nothing in Genesis was a surprise to God.

Such an astounding thought to be part of this prophetic journey.

One thing I would like to mention is that God also I feel that God has special feelings for the Filipino people, because the Philippines was the only place in the world that gave Safehaven to the Jews during the time of World War II, in Manila the Filipino President instruction by the president built a synagogue and a whole village for the Jews in Manila and on the Island of mindanao. I live in the Philippines now, and I can feel the Holy Spirit here in the Filipino people for what they did in the past years for God’s people. God is now blessing the Filipino people. They truly have the Holy Spirit within them.

Hi Christine! Very interesting presentation of the events that took place leading up to and during the time of the Birth of the Messiah. The writings of the Prophet Daniel containing the knowledge of the future, received from the Messenger Gabriel, and was probably the main source of the information recorded and stored in the Persian Kings Library that the Wisemen from the East would have had access to, giving them the knowledge of the Year of the Birth of the Messiah, but not the place. This would be why they went to Jerusalem and to Herod. Though controversial! this could be a case of 'Truth' over 'Tradition'. Hope you find this as interesting as I do Christine? Daniel 9:24, the first two Hebrew words, ignoring the Masoretic vowel pointing, are the same. Biblical Hebrew: שבעים שבעים SHaBAYaM SHaBAYaM meaning 'Seventy' Seventy when translated into English. The first word with the Masoretic vowel pointing: שָׁבֻעִ֨ים changes the meaning of the word, when Translated, to 'Weeks'. This is not the only place in the Prophesy of Daniel 9:24-27, that has been changed by vowel pointing, it was done to introduce the 'Tradition' of 'Weeks' without altering the Script itself. The 'Traditional' Seventy Weeks Prophesy, when calculated gives 483 years to the coming of the Messiah, but gives no starting or ending year, leaving it open for interpretation. Ignoring the Masoretic Vowel Pointing (introduced around 600/700 AD) reveals a different understanding of the Prophesy. Daniel 9:24, Seventy Seventy are determined for your people, and your Holy City... This indicates 'Two Calculation' found in Verse 25, each Calculation begins with שבעים SHaBAYaM or 'Seventy' Daniel 9:25 THE DECREE OF CYRUS Seventy Seven (not Seven 'Weeks') 70x7=490 plus 7x7=49 Total= 539 BC The year of the Decree of the Persian King Cyrus, freeing the Jews to return home and rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple. See, Ezra 1:1 THE BIRTH OF THE MESSIAH Seventy Sixty and Two (not Sixty Two 'Weeks') 70x7=490 minus 62x7=434 Total= 56 BC The year of the Birth of the Messiah, that would take place during the Reign of Herod Antipater the Idumaean (the Father of Herod the Great) Daniel 9:26 DEATH OF MESSIAH After - Seventy Sixty and Two (which is a repeat of the above) Messiah will be Cut Off. This means that 56 years later He was Crucified. The Jews said to Him, "you are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?", John 8:56-58, showing us that by then He was probably in His late Forties. Daniel 9:27 CONFIRMING THE NEW COVENANT And He (the Messiah) shall Confirm the Covenant with many (His Disciples through Holy Spirit at Pentecost and beyond) for One Seven (not one Week) and Half the Seven (not In the middle of the Week) 7x7=49 plus 3x7=21 Total= 70 years (because the calculation is Half the Seven , it is less than Seven, omitting the Sabbath, only 6 days are halved) In 70 AD Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. 539 BC minus 56 BC = 483 years, but now we have the Year of the Decree of Cyrus and the Year of the Birth of the Messiah, given to Daniel by Gabriel. This fits in with Matthew 2:1-21, the Magi and the flight to Egypt. On their return to Nazareth after the death of Herod 13 years later in 43 BC, the Messiah would be 12 and in His 13th year, during the visit to Jerusalem, when He was found in the Temple, Luke 2:42-52. Genesis confirms the New Covenant existence and communion practice many centuries before Moses and Aaron. The New Covenant was introduced by Melchizedek, both King and High Priest lineage that Apostle Paul says in Hebrews that Jesus is the true High Priest successor. Nothing to do with First, Second, and Third Temple idea or Levitical Priesthood.
