Sudhanshu Mani, father of Vande Bharat Trains: Visionary behind India's semi-high speed train revolution.
Sudhanshu Mani, a mechanical officer of the Indian Railways with a 38-year career, was the mastermind behind the Vande Bharat Express train. He was instrumental in ensuring that the train was delivered within a short duration of about 18 months.
This semi-high speed train was a dream that Sudhanshu had while he was the General Manager at the Integrated Coach Factory, Chennai. He envisioned a self-propelled train that could run at a speed of 180 km and would cost half the price of the imported semi-high speed trains.

When I first saw the Vande Bharat express I knew that it will be a success. I wrote to NDTV and said that India must manufacture more trains like the first Vande Bharat Express. Sudhanshu Mani Sir, thank you very much for introducing this train to India. I can say without a doubt, that, this project created lots of jobs for the people of India. I am very proud of Indian engineers and workers. Well done and all the best for the future of India. Furthermore I like the name "Vande Bharat Express," excellent choice.

वन्दे भारत के बनाने वाले श्री सुधांशु मणि और उनके सहयोगी सभी इंजीनियर को बहुत बहुत बधाईयाँ इन्होंने कितना रिक्श लिया, 24x7 कार्य किया, विदेशो से 200 करोड़ की ट्रेन न खरीद कर अपने यहां स्वेदशी ट्रेन बनायी 100 करोड़ के बजट में 97 करोड़ में ट्रेन को बनाकर दिया। देश के पैसो को बचाकर यहां के भारतीयों नयी टेक्नोलोजी व भारतीयो को सुविधायुक्त तेज ट्रेन दी इन सभी के लिए आपको बहुत बहुत बधाईयाँ।
