I was down for the count with the flu for new years. My wife forced me to stay in bed all day. I finally caught the nightstalker documentary on Netflix after putting it off for two years. Im not a big tv guy, but I’m so glad I sat down and watched all four episodes. Man was it powerful and informative. Gil Carrillo and his fellow detectives did an amazing job on that case.

Thank you Popeye for bringing Gil Carrillo to your podcast. I love this man I wish him and George Lopez would get their podcast back up and running. You always have great guests and thank you so much for sharing positive people in our community which is the Mexican American community, because they always only show the bad things but thank you for showing the good side of our culture and our people.❤❤❤❤❤

I lived on Hubbard and Indiana st when this happen , I was a kid and could hear the commotion going on the day the night stalker got caught , big desmadre with news, helicopters, detectives etc . Some of the dudes that beat up the night stalkers were the homeboys of my father . It brings back memories now as 49 year old man.

when I watched parts of the documentary, I felt they spent way too much time on carillo's backstory and was bothered by his non chalant attitude and joking when describing the brutality and heinousness of it all..For example, I saw another documentary of ramirez and carrillo was almost protective towards him.. laughing over ramirez' satan worshipping.. giggling &fantasizing if he saw ramirez levitate. Very unprofessional and very inappropriate.

Catching him was just geography, Gil is the one who figured it out and made it happen

@Eeohippus bro I think you meant to text another word instead of " geography "
@Eeohippus
@Eeohippus 2 ай бұрын
@@user-ly6sn1lt2f no I meant geography, the reason that the citizens caught him is because he was in their neighborhood. Jill is the one who discovered that Ramirez was the same person doing all the murders and he and Salerno are the ones who figured this out. The citizens who trapped the guy were successful because he was in their neighborhood, that's what I meant by it's just geography

Gil carillo didn't catch Richard Ramirez .it was Joe public, a group of men from hubbard Street in East Los Angeles, chased Ramirez and he was felled to the ground by a fence post and was almost beaten to death by the gang...carillo called Ramirez a coward ...a man who snuck into house's in the dead of night, not knowing what he was going to face...Calling Ramirez a coward is police speak for being unable to apprehend the suspect...Him and salerno would never have caught him....bizzarly, the cop who put the cuffs on Ramirez had the same surname....

Yes, but he was the one who uncovered the killer and discovered that he was the same killer from the first two killings, and after his identity was identified, it was published and people recognized him through magazines.
