This is pretty much the first time we’ve seen VFX work on Star Wars from a studio that’s not ILM. And considering the fact that these people made Chappie and District 9, I’m impressed.

Not really the first time. Hybride, BaseFX, Ghost VFX, Exceptional Minds, Blind, BOT VFX, and 32Ten helped with 7-9. ILM is principle on those films though.

Yeah lol, it's only because bad CGI stands out now. Good CGI is everywhere and nobody even mentions it bc it's so good

There's so much CG these days, I don't even use the word "films" to describe all this capeshit blockbuster trash. They're more like video games.

because it looks like shit and it's crammed into every inch of every frame. as if the colour grading we've had to endure for the last decade and a half isn't bad enough. it makes my eyeballs wanna puke.
