It's strange, because much like The Force Awakens, the first Season of the Mandalorian did a fantastic job in setting up interesting plot beats for the future, motivations for characters, and general intrigue towards the world it presented, but by the time a sequel for both arrived, many of these ideas just became ignored, in favor of safer, more predictable material. In addition to this, Audiences from my experience seem to be able to tell quite quickly when the structure of a piece of content has been planned, and when it sorely hasn't, and based on what I saw in the second season of the Mandalorian personally, the writing soon started to feel distracted by its cultural relevance to the world, as opposed to continuing confidently in the steps it had made before, adding in meaningless references to itself through repetition of past lines that don't fit the scenes they're being called back in, or drawing out reveals of characters the show knows will be popular among fans, resulting in a product that has since just become way too self-aware. The decision to re-unite Grogu and the Mandalorian so quickly to the point that it had to be done in another show for brevity's sake, feels more like studio pressure to keep people buying stuffed animals of the cute little green guy, than a calculated move to further Mando's character. Playing it safe is something Disney is almost known for at this point, speaking to your claim about the series just being a vehicle for cameo's as well. They're easy to do, don't require much story tweaking to fit in, and will undoubtedly excite these same fans just by their sheer presence, and nothing else. Only a major franchise can truly get away with this, as we now watch these spin-offs and reboots prey on the desire to re-ignite the joy we felt about the original content, failing to realize that this is itself a paradoxical, and futile cycle of disappointment, but it doesn't have to be. Thanks for the fantastic video that went by extremely quickly (Unlike the last few seasons of this show, which I felt lingered on much more than was required), and have a good one man, great work as always.

Hate to say it but I completely disagree, even though the story wasn’t as good as season 1 or 2 it was still really fun and it was fun seeing more of Bo katan, I agree that she did feel to much like the main character but the finale made up for everything
