Biggest issue was Grogu going back to mando in BOBF. Completely changed the trajectory of season 3 imo

Can't believe there wasn't any mention of Paz's sacrifice either in the last episode. Especially after they built the respect and trust between Paz and Din earlier in the season when they saved Ragnar. Who also finally got his ceremony uninterrupted at the end, but without his father. Disgraceful they completely glossed over that

John came out and said he wanted to extend the season but Disney wanted him to get it out. He ideally wanted 10 to 12 episodes it's a eye opening interview.

You know I’m kinda pissed that the Darksaber was destroyed like that. Its survived the entire clone wars, the Empire and Vaders reign, been wielded by Maul and fought against Darth Sidious himself and "Moff Gideon" is the one that destroys it in such a simple way too. I feel some type of way.😭

It was so meh and cringe this season. The writers basically turned it into a sitcom with random stories of the week.

This season was a roller coaster of “what is even happening??”

Season 1 didn’t feel anything like George Lucas Star Wars. Season 3 felt the most like George Lucas prequels and it was the worst season

How did the Darksaber get destroyed if it was built with pure beskar?

The show was confused about what story it was even trying to tell. Was it about Grogu? Was it about Din? Was it about Bo? Who knows. Either way, a very disappointing and lackluster season.

Gideon’s reaction of clones still kills me, Mf was watching a UAV and still acted surprised

I'm convinced that Grogu was originally never meant to be in this season. Or if he was it was only going to be small appearances of him training with Luke. The ending of S2 was a massive change up in the story and for that to be undone BEFORE S3 even came out makes me wonder why. Why did we have what was essentially the first couple episodes of Mando in Book of Boba? Why did they chose to bring Grogu back so quickly? I have my guess as im sure many of us do. If you think about it. This season without Grogu would have made so much more sense and the aimless nature of it may have been excusable. It could have been played up as Din being aimless without Grogu around. The tone of the season would have felt justified but with Grogu in it, it feels aimless without good reason. Overall I'm pretty disappointed with the season. 2 years of a wait just to get this is not the way. At least Andor was amazing otherwise star wars would feel very dead to me again.

Without a DOUBT there should have been 1 whole episode dedicated to Mando being captured. His interrogation, more Empire stuff, and the episode ending with a group coming back for him. They make him get captured for literally no reason lol. AND here we are with 3 complete seasons and no information about the Armorer. One of my favorite characters who plays a huge role in Mandos story. We don't know ANYTHING about this character still.

I think the 2 Mando episodes in Book of Boba diluted the Mando series and they wasted a great opportunity to have a climatic ending in season 3. If Season 3 started with those 2 Mando episodes, and Grogu actually choose to train with Luke, that could of been the basis of season 3 where we go between the 2 stories of Grogu's training and the Mandalore story, with Grogu turning up in the last episode to rescue Din, similar to the decision Luke had to make at the end of Empire where he chooses friends over his training. Now that would have been an epic season 3.

I absolutely agree that it was a mistake to bring Grogu back in TBOBF. I‘ve thought about an alternate way this season could have played out with the two being separated while still adhering to the broad story:

The entire scene where Moff Gideon was like "I'll handle this myself" and walks towards the door when the camera was rolling and then makes a U-turn off camera made me laugh so hard. When Din was trying to sabotage the clones, I was sure Gideon would show up in some kind of sneak attack. Instead we get a successful sabotage after a clone opens their eyes and Gideon waiting on a platform that makes it seem like he was plotting an escape. Turns out he is sad that Din just blew up his precious clones even though he could have maybe walked the correct way to get to Din before he made it to the room in the first place. Like how stupid is this version of Gideon? He better be a clone or I'd have to say that was some of the poorest script writing for an antagonist I've seen in a while. Probably tied with Palps somehow coming back to life.

I really feel mando season 1 excelled so well because of how intimate that project was. It really felt that the creators of the show had a really good aesthetic in visuals and story telling and was a really good tv show with just cool quirky adventures such as the ep where they broke into the prisoner ship which i think is the coolest ep as all the characters were just very well played and felt like real original characters. It was great how it brought star wars back to a higher level and brought all of this new attention to it. However from this it just became a pure cash grab. Like i feel they must of added a bunch more people that just screwed with all the ideas and really i feel completely changed the original direction for the show. Like they really have just tried to make it as much lore based as possible. they have just jammed a bunch of elements of star wars into one. Like jedis, cloning, cloning with the force, order 66, darksaber, complex mandalorian lore that seems to be ever changing rapidly and is now kinda hard to fully keep track on, , zev, thrawn like its all getting a bit too much. like the inspo for he show was like a western movie and season 1 felt like that, it had its own story in the star wars universe. now its just like a fan fiction series that is now kinda dumb and cringey with only a few parts that feel somewhat close to the first season.

I think Favreau recently said that he’s writing seasons 4 and up. The only good thing that I can see for this ending is that it allows for a Timeskip; I can see 5-10 years passing. One thing that the ending really missed was the conclusion between Din, Bo, and Grogu. Like they just leave and they don’t say anything to each other even after everything they went through. Bo Katan never thanked Din for staying with her and never abandoning her even though everyone else had left her at that point. it really showed how loyal he is and how much respect he has for her. Din should have told Bo that he was going to go out into the galaxy and destroy the rest of the Imperial Remnants so that Mandalore could be safe. Bo could’ve offered to join him but Din tells her that her role is to be on Mandalore, guiding their people as Duchess. That would’ve been much better than the final Rebel Pilot bar scene imo. She could’ve possibly even given Grogu the Kyber Crystal from the Darksaber, so that he could at some point build his own lightsaber!

I 100% agree with you Theory. Every point you made was spot on. It was a very safe and easy season that didnt take any risk. It felt like they were just checking boxes this sesson and rushed the writing. Great video!
