Was never a big fan of revenge stories, but I can't lie, stories like these really does show how far parents are willing to go for their kids, wether the kid is dead or alive.

Honestly, I could relate to the boy here. He loved his mom way too much, doesn't want to cause chaos by speaking up, and honestly his last words being "mom" kinda broke my heart cause it was so sudden. Not a drawn out death like Eren's mother (A scene I saw which, as a kid, hurt me so bad I had to call my own mother to get consolation) But one that just absolutely hurts.

My personal headcannon is that Kiritaka is living his best life as an isekai protagonist and every single time one of his bullies die they get sent to the same parallel world forced to join his party, forced to cheer him on because hes overpowered af at this point.

What the girl got is essentially the cruelest form of historical execution. It has a name, i dont remember it though. The real thing involves a boat, being forcefed honey, slathered with it, and takes about a month to die.

we have a lot of revenge manga, but a mother that wanted revenge is quite unusual, also this actually pretty realistic because in real life there was a case of mother commit revenge to kill the rapist and murderer of her daughter.

I feel bad. The lead up to the kid dying was sad, but the moment Truck-Kun, THE BIGGEST MENACE IN ANIME, showed up I couldn't stop laughing. "It's OK ma'am, your son was just an isekai protagonist, and this was HIS backstory"

There’s an episode of Malcom in the Middle where one of the boys gets pranked, Reese I think, before prom. A girl pretends to go out with him but instead dress up a pig outside his door. The girl and others laugh, but Reese’s mother Lois sees this. Lois takes revenge on all the girls involved by stalking them, observing their habits, following their schedules. She gets back at them by destroying their belongings, tricking their parents into thinking they’re sleazy and cheap, and outright ruining their prom night with paintballs. It’s extreme to say the least, but I like it as an allegory for parents going to extreme lengths to stand up for their children.

honestly I hope this gets adapted into an anime because I think the animation on this would be fire!! I have no sympathy for the bullies! team maria all the way!!!!!!! go mama!!!

As the mother of a 3 year old... This one hit a little different. Honestly, I can understand going insane with revenge even just imagining that happening to my son. All in all, I'm happy to see a darker story involving motherhood. It's not often touched on in manga.

I must admit, the punishment scenes with a puzzle that the culprits could solve to get away is very well thought out. Sure, they have a chance to escape and this might make some readers feel bad due to the mother not outright making them suffer for their crimes without any second chances. But look at how those play out. Each of them ultimately fail to escape and the reason behind it is their own crimes and flaws that had made them such awful people. Very good way to highlight what made all of them awful people and its fitting that those traits are what leads to their doom. And is kinda tragic when you think about it because the main antagonist has been using all of them like pawns by preying on their weaknesses. The last game of wits between him and the mother is really something I'm looking forward to.

Maria wanted to be a school nurse because she was bullied and an orphan, so she talked to the school nurse a lot and it became her safe place, its a really nice detail on the first chapter

The synopsis of this manga reminds me of Japanese movie Confessions (Kokuhaku) starring Matsu Takako. Rather than bullied, her daughter was murdered by two of her students. So she set an elaborate plan for revenge against those students who thinks they're protected by Juvenile Law. So if you love this manga Maria no Danzai, I suggest you watch the movie Confessions (Kokuhaku).

Reminds me of another manga I read once were a kid also dies but instead of his mother taking revenge it was his war veteran grandfather hunting them down

It's manga like this that makes you realise just how much our parents love us. I honestly wish this mother could have a happy and normal life in an alternate universe. She didn't desrve any of this.

This is such a sad story, and coincidentally enough, my mom's name is Maria as well. Now I gotta love her even more, make sure that I let her know that I'm gonna live a great life, even after the day that I lose her. Which I'm scared that would happen, but have to accept that it will happen. Love your family, guys. You don't know how much time you have left with them, only fate knows.

its literally painful to read the manga itself around the first and second chapter, it showcase what indecent thing the mother have done and have to do, aswell as what the girl have to endured by that bully, basically exploiting her for money the few chapter after, it became satisfying

I’ve always loved revenge stories. You can see the most tame and most gentle people turn into monsters to right a wrong, or to protect someone else from the same fate. It brings into question if people are deep down all capable of terrifying acts if pushed to it, if some people have that capability and others don’t, or if trauma can change a person!

This looks like a really good story, now lets be honest here we all know how it's going to end the final guy on her list is going to eventually find out what's going on(I mean come on no one is that dense & conseted) she's going to confront him at the same location her son died at and they're both going to die she would have left both a note and her son's journal as evidence of what she did and why she did it but it's still going to be an amazing read to see it.....

I really want to see the father taking part of the revenge too. Like another chess piece that is still in the game but no one takes atention of it, only to make a move in the exact momento to win the match.

Sadly this type of revenge manga always had Tragic ending for protagonist once they are close to their goal or after they achieved their goal. And ofcourse some of those children could be influencial or son of rich people that are always pain in the arse to messed with.

I love this manga! A lot of people were complaining about what she had to do to get access into the school but I’m like…the entire story is about how far a mother will go to avenge her son. Her son was tortured, brutalized, and murdered by these kids. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing would be too far for his mom to do to make those kids pay for their inhumane actions. I look forward to her making each of them feel exactly how they made her son feel. Not to mention, I love how the story showcases how awful these children are. So that no one feels sympathize or remorseful of their deaths. Maria herself exposes this by giving them a chance to escape. She’s given them an olive branch but because they are just terrible people not even that can save them. Karmic retribution in its finest. I especially loved Shimizu’s death and how in the end she realized all those actions she took against Nagare were ultimelty for nothing considering she has no real friends. The person she did it for will never and has never regarded her as anything but a pawn. That last revelation before her slow death is amazing.

Lots of dudes getting revenge, interesting for it to be a female focused perspective.

One thing i realize how poetic second kill was Fact she torture her same way she torture her son but not only that when she fall the fall did not kill her but something else did The same way how her son death went but more slow and painful

I once heard a creepypasta or a father of a daughter decided to take revenge on the people who pushed them to commit suicide by forcing them to play macabre games like in the Saw movies.

Plot reminds me of Juujika no Rokunin. The plot in this one it's that there's this boy, Shun Uruma. When he was 12, he was being bullied by 5, VERY EVIL kids the same age as him, their leader being Shigoku, a boy who was doing this just to see how much suffering a person could take before un-aliving themselves. But one day, the bullies took it way too far, as they staged a car accident that killed Uruma's parents and left his little brother scarred and comatose. Living with his grandpa, Uruma grabbed his grandpa's shotgun to get revenge, but the latter stopped him, since Uruma would very easily be arrested just for being seen with a shotgun. It just so happens that Uruma's grandpa was one of those Japanese special unit soldiers, so he knew all kinds of asskicking, assassination and torture techniques, and decides to train Uruma with such techniques. 3 years later, Uruma is finally ready to hunt down the bullies, who became even worse people, and exact his revenge.

I just hope the story stays on the mother and her targets, unlike Juujika Rokunin where the conflict became convoluted and loses it focus

I'm following this manga. It's really good. I'd recommend this to people who enjoy revenge stories. Spoilers below: I love how the method she uses on the bullies are the same ones that the bullies uses on her son. Its a good revenge show

It makes me sad Marie is doing awful things to get her revenge, also doing "Favors" to be the nurse. She looked so sweet before her son's death. But at the same time.... they had it coming

In recent chapters, the story has gone into showing us more of the relationships between the bullies. It reminded me that even if they are devils, they are still children as well, they do show pain and grief after finding out what happened to their friends. Almost make you feel for them. Also this doesnt seem like it's gonna be a one sided massacre like the Saw franchise. The bullies are starting to look for the culprit behind their friends going missing and are planning their own revenge of some sort. The police are getting involved as well. The story is actually getting more complicated and interesting, I thought I'd just be a quick gory revenge plot for instant satisfaction but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I think they got the inspirational idea from the SAW movies.

I highly recommend this Manga..the story line and the art work is top notch..

Glad to see more people talking about this. Sure it’s very dark and it’s definitely not for everyone, but damn it it’s good. This is one of those stories where I really need to see how it ends.

In all fairness, I believe that most people would break down if you put their life on the line! It’s hard for me to look down at someone regardless if they are a good or bad person because I’m sure anyone would bust into tears if they was about to be unalived, especially jigsaw style!

The sad thing is that bullies like this do exist bullies who take things to these kinds of extremes and people do die because of it many times they make the victim take their own life or the victim becomes so scared to speak up and depressed they take their own life I considered it do to my own bullies when I was younger I didn’t but I still hate both the bullies and the schools that let it happen to me.

Honestly this reminds me of The Glory (k-drama) and I hope this gets an adaptation because I think it will be a hit just like that. The Glory is also about bullying like this, so I love the parallels here-I guess the only difference is in The Glory, it is the victim that gets revenge.

As much as I like how the art of this manga looks, the story can only end in one of four equally-predictable ways. 1) The mom, after a great struggle, succeeds in killing the bullies' ring-leader. She dies from her injuries shortly afterwards. 2) The mom kills all of the bullies, but then it gets revealed that she never actually had a son. She performed the killings only as a result of extreme delusions. She later gets either imprisoned for life or executed. 3) The mom kills all of the bullies, but then it turns out that the entire story was just the product of the mom's imagination. The mom has actually been in an insane asylum the entire time. 4) After killing all of the bullies, the mom realises that for her to torture and kill the bullies is not what her soft-hearted son would have wanted. She is driven insane by guilt, and later dies because of this. The point is, there is absolutely no way that this is going to have a happy ending.

This is the first day I encountered your channel. This video... I really want to read this manga thanks to you. I am kinda into revenge plots, especially since it establishes fairness of things. I myself was a victim of bullying that lasted for a long time. And I haven't recovered from it yet, seeking help from psychologist. And oh boy... what would I give to burn all the bullies to the ground for what they did to me. And seeing them having happy life when they destroyed my self-esteem, gave me paranoia and inability to make friends... that... feels absolutely unfair. Unfair it hurts. But my pain is not even close to what this mother has experienced. I really want to see how it ends.

I really hope this story doesnt end on a happy or satisfying note. Tired of the typical anime revenge story.

There's a decent amount of revenge mangas and most of them follow the common story trope, main character gets bullied and gets revenge but it would be a nice change if they went with the supernatural or paranormal route where the main character dies but returns not as themselves instead as a malicious spirit and starts haunting the bullies along with anyone associated with them.

This needs to be a high level anime, like one with actually good animation.

I'd say Maria was absolutely READY to murder Kowase, and for good reason considering he took sadistic pleasure in blackmailing and tormenting others, and no amount of begging or pleading was ever going to save him. He was pure scum. However, in the case of Shikimi, there's definitely a valid argument to make that Maria gave her a chance. She definitely felt that she still had to suffer for what she did, and that was displayed well with having to get the SIM card out of the box full of razors. However, if Shikimi had been able to find someone who genuinely cared for her despite everything, I feel like Maria would've at least not killed her. She obviously wouldn't have let her go, because then Shikimi would go screaming for the hills telling everyone and get Maria arrested, but Maria could just keep Shikimi locked up somewhere and once she gets her revenge on everyone else, maybe she wouldn't care anymore and would just let Shikimi go. She wouldn't care if she got arrested because her revenge has been carried out. However, Shikimi showed that there wasn't a single person she had a meaningful relationship with; because not only did none of the other bullies really care about her, the people she tried to go to were her lackeys that were forced to do her bidding and would gladly chuck her under the bus the moment they get a chance to. Maria only cut off Shikimi's relationship with her lackeys, not with anyone such as family or whatever. She had PLENTY of other people to contact, so it was by no means 'unfair'. All Shikimi proved with her stunt was that she was a complete loner who would never understand what it meant for Maria to lose her son like that, because she has no meaningful relationships with anyone, and she fucked herself even more by TAUNTING Maria. This method of revenge was INTENTIONALLY designed to be excruciatingly painful because this was the only way Maria felt she could show Shikimi what kind of pain she'd inflicted on her by what she did to her son.

Had she been in persona 5’s metaverse and inside the bully’s palace, she would’ve awakened to her persona

Something tells me the ring leader bully knows exactly who the mother is the minute she came to the school. He looked way to transfixed by what happened with her when she witnessed her son die. He probably has a mother complex and maybe that’s why he targeted the son in the first place. Just guessing though, looking forward to finding out!

The only thing I worry about is the pain she will suffer after the revenge is completed, Even if she is never caught. She would still feel the emptiness of her son's absence and feel unbearable pain. I feel as though the ending might be that she dies along with the leader and reunites with her son.
