So the origin story of that lyric actually came from a legend that might've been real, after his death at Trafalgar, Nelson's body was put in a wooden box full of rhum for it to be preserved, but after the ship arrived in England, the entire beverage that was in the box was gone, and a hole with knife hit spots around it was found, leading them to believe that the sailors were likely the ones who drank it. Hence come the lyrics "a drop of Nelson's blood", basically meaning having a drink.

@@smashedpumpking if you wanna know what I mean, record yourself singing like you should be loud, but someone is asleep in the other room and you don't want to wake them up. Then record yourself just belting something you know really well at the top of your lungs with no hesitation, like nobody is around for miles. You can hear it in the tone when you commit vs. when you're holding something back, which is why when you listen to sea shanties for example, people like the Longest Johns sound like the soyboys they are and make the medium sound prissy, while someone like Stan Rogers sounds like a real man.
