I actually ran into someone at a job. He was a former Marine like myself and he has been to prison (For a murder he was wrongfully accused of because of his race and the era he was in). He is much older than me and he introduced me to D&D because that is what he played when he was in prison to keep his sanity. Now I am a huge fan and I play D&D frequently.

Hey Joe, I just recently got out of my 2 year rip at a medium security prison in WI. No CIP, no ERP and no 75%. Before getting sentenced I subscribed and watched not only your videos but some others (not subscribed) to try to prepare myself for what was in store for ol Chad here in prison life. Your videos are on point. Gotta say though, pulling up and seeing that fence with the razor wire and those guard towers... well it turned my stomach. Other than a couple DWI's I didn't have any criminal history until I stepped in this shit pile, and what a pile it was. Changed my life and my family's, but I guess prison can do that. Anyways I'm out, and happened to see one of your videos on the KZfaq. Needless to say (but I will ) the subscribed button has been hit and the bell has been rung. Thanks for your insight, take care man.

You should do a Submarine vs Prison episode. I knew a guy on my boat who claimed being on a sub out at sea was worse than being in prison (after listing the minuses of each). That said, I disagreed. We all knew the minuses of being on a sub because we lived them. Guys living together underwater for 3 or 4 months at a time do tend to grate on each other after a while, so there are fights and stuff. Weaker/newer people get picked on by the stronger. Just the kinds of things that happen when guys live together in close quarters for a long time. A submarine is crowded like you might not imagine. It is not like in movies. Combined with an 18 hour day rotation and endless drills, life out at sea really does suck. Anyway, this was also a while ago so there was no live TV or internet on the sub, you were isolated completely. All we had VCR tapes, books, cards and games. The food was WAY better than prison food though. Besides prison being a way more dangerous place, I only had one guy I was out at sea with threaten to kill me, the fact that we only had a 3 to 4 month "sentence", followed by 3 to 4 months "out" before we had to go back i think makes the sub a better place to be.
