The RPM scene when Flynn uses his morphing gimmick to make a targeted explosion is still one of the most iconic moments in the series

For an archery themed Power Rangers/Super Sentai, it would only be natural to do an arrowhead gimmick. They would not only be integral with the morphers and zords, but they could also power up the Rangers bows and arrows. And they could even be changed to arrows themselves for big special attacks. Just to give a couple examples.

I can't believe they passed up on an opportunity to make Zeo Crystal candies. Those could have dethroned the ring pop!

One thing about the Power Coins, while it might not be an official gimmick, people would want them. Like I remembered I wanted to get those colored power coins that came with the movie figures 😅

I actually enjoyed samurai’s power disc because a lot of them would directly become part of the Zord they were attributed to. The miscellaneous ones that didn’t belong to a Zord weren’t cool though.

I was a part of pr fanfic rpg group where our team's morphers were gauntlets. The gimmick were badges inserted into the gauntlet for morphing, weapons, finishers, zords, and past ranger power ups (Lights of Orion) or weapon access(Bullzooka).

I have an idea for a magic-based Ranger theme. For a gimmick, each Ranger would have a set of unique power coins with seemingly random lines on a clear base, but when inserted into the morpher, it would complete a summoning circle, effectively allowing the Rangers to summon their suits and weapons

Tbh, the Dino Fury Keys are pretty cool. Saw a review where if you have the basic Red and Pink Megazord pack, you can use any of the keys as interchangeable heads. Now that's a gimmick, but cool one!

With Cosmic Fury, I wonder if Hasbro will incorporate the kyutama gimmicks. If they don't, how will they be explained with the zords? (Kyutamas might only be the cockpits) If Hasbro does use kytamas, how will they be released in the toy line? I feel like kyutamas could really show if Hasbro is able to make decent gimmicks for power rangers or not.

I would’ve counted the Dino face plates from Dino Thunder as a gimmick, since they had many packs you could buy of just face plates. Besides that great video!

So one gimmick I came up with is Pommels. I came up with a knight themed team (kind of a mix of dino fury and lost Galaxy) the sword would be the Morpher and different Pommels would give them different powers/effects. The idea would be arthurian mixed with gemstones.

I loved the dino gun-blade from MMPR and the combined power blaster from their individual unique weapons. I would re-engineer that to have all the individual power weapons could combine with a new gun-blade like Andros could or combine with another ranger, not just as a whole set. Each ranger would end up with 2 unique weapons and a gun-blade for all sorts of combinations and I feel that would be fun.

I recently got the MMPRTTRPG (mighty morphin table top rpg) for my birthday and our PR theme is Yokai. Our gimmick are Ofuda Seals that we break to "unseal" our zords and new power ups

10:52 - 10:55 If I made my own ranger gimmick, it would be sort of a USB or small key to insert into the morpher. I know that sounds unoriginal (Beast Morphers, Super Megaforce, and Dino Fury), but the idea is that up to TWO of these gimmicks can be inserted into either side of the morpher to make sort of a combo armor. Also, there could be larger versions of the gimmick that can be the main gimmick used by a specific ranger. For the legendary ranger toyline, the gimmicks would be based on the morphers of past seasons (i.e. Dino Fury Morpher, Beast-X Morpher, etc).

If I could create my own Power Rangers gimmick it'd be something like the Bakugan series. They carry their gear, armor, and zords with them 24/7 and when they need them, they throw the miniature of the gear, it forms, and coats the rangers with their armor and weapons. I'd actually break away from the standard and give each of them unique battle gear and powers, like the green ranger would be good at making and using traps in battle so his battle gear would make things like caltrops, smoke grenades, rope snares ect. While the blue rangers battle gear I imagine would be something that enables him to traverse and use water in battle easier.

I was inspired to make a spider themed Power Rangers series after seeing a repaint of the 3 main movie Spidermen, and here’s the Idea I have for it: Each Ranger would have their own different type of spider, and so they could sell toys based off the different types of spiders but as figures, and what I want to do for them to transform is: They would use watches that have a containment cell in them and with a spiderweb on the floor of the containment cells, those spiders would have a magnet and they would attach themselves onto the web which has a metal piece in there, after they insert the spider, they would slam the container down which would cause a web (being the color of the specific ranger) to wrap around them like a cocoon, and they would break out, but for the toy it can just be web parts poking out with lights in them to indicate which color they are

I had high hopes for the card game. I’m a a card game player and for over 20 years I’ve wanted a PR card game. When it finally happened, I was immediately buying packs and decks. However, the game is beyond basic. I’ve conceived rules for my own PR card game. Maybe one day a true tcg for the series will happen!

Honestly, if I could design my own gimmick it would take from Transformers Armada and Target masters from G1. Basically sentient miniature robots that act as an upgrade or weapon to the megazord, where the miniature robots can interact directly with the rangers.

The Ranger Keys and Megaforce cards are also able to unlock content in the 3ds Megaforce and Super Megaforce games as well. You can still unlock everything thru grinding, so they're not required, but nice to have that additional functionality if you have some lying around. Of course I hear there was an issue with kids scanning the QR codes through the bubble in the packaging and not buying the keys, but I just call that ingenuity 🤣.

I guess a gimmick I would like to see is possible dice. Six sided, 20 sided, I don't know how to incorporate them, but I feel like they'd be fun.

You could argue that the Dino Thunder zord faceplates that were used with the morphers was yet another collectible gimmick. But of course it wasn't fully integral much like Wild Force and Ninja Storm.

While I think Power Rangers gimmicks have been lacking recently (Ninja Power Stars were the nail in the coffin), I think Bandai of Japan's gimmicks for Toku still work, from Ranger Keys and Ride Cards and Spark Dolls to Sentai/Avataro Gears and Vistamps/ Raise Buckles and Guts Hyper Keys/Ultra Dimension Cards and even though sentai like Go-Busters, Zyuohger and Kiramager had no gimmick, I think those seasons were great without the toyline, of course that's my opinion

I always loved the wild force crystals, they are really pretty and the little totems are cool to look at

Resin gemstones. The morphing ones would have the symbol for each Ranger on it and it would be a cut gem, of course, with the gimmick ones being raw or attached to some other object if they're really special.

My favourite gimmicks are still the ranger keys from Gokaiger. But I hate the toy keys from Super Megaforce. I was surprised Dino Fury toys didn't use Ranger Keys for the Ryusoulgers but used cardboard stickers instead.

I remember there was an PR arcade game when Samurai came out that uses the cards which are similar to megaforce style (and the game is based on the Sentai adaptation as well but it only lasted for a few versions

My favorite gimmicks that I remember enjoying the most are the Megaforce cards with the Gosei Morpher due to the variety of sounds and many cards to choose from along with the ranger keys and so called Legendary Morpher although I wish it had more variety of sounds rather than just the team name.

My idea for a gimmick would be kinda similar to the Spark Dolls from Ultraman Ginga which would be little figures that let the ranger morph and maybe have vinyl of the monster of the week that gives them cool abilities

For my own Power Ranger gimmick, I'd make it something quite basic. Maybe the rangers have a favorite item (tennis ball, book, watch, etc) and they can turn that item into their morphers which would be quite simple yet cool looking watch morphers. But more than all of this, I'd make a good PR show, maybe even R-rated for violence. Just my 2 cents on it

The only gimmick I ever imaged was the rangers combining the morpher of a team member with their own. Red+Blue= purple power up. Blue + Green= Turquoise power up. I have no clue to turn this into a toy I just imagined it as being really cool on screen.

Unfortunately, I lost my Gosei Morpher, but I still have one of the Ranger Cards from that set. I lost a lot of Power Rangers toys apparently. I'm furious at myself and my parents. So much so, that I keep the original boxes of these things now and I store all the stuff in them, and I store the boxes in boxes.

Technically the Zeo Crystal are collectibles since the ones packaged with the toy morphers have different colors if I remember well

How's this sound: The morphers are medallions with jewels. The jewels draw power from the morphing grid, and the medallions use that power to make the suits & weapons. Each one has a distinct design, which makes them collectable.

The super megaforce ranger keys were my favorite.

simple gimmick, big use. it's an app that was a morpher in the show, that doubles as a game, a way to find out about new toy releases and to purchase toys, and merch through the app. also to interact with the toys by using qr codes to have the phone unlock sounds for them. just imagine everyone on their smartphones "morphing" at a con. as for how it would be used in the show... here goes.. lol the morpher doesn't exist as a physical object, it's an app they use. it requires the user to scan a specific code to access for the first time, but they have to find it first. there are 5 of these throughout the city the story is based on and are all one time use. the same app can be used for morphing, zords, weapons, power ups, etc.. all of these are done with the app and needs a "qr code adjacent" thing to recognize what it is. this can unlock new zords, weapons, power ups, ranger forms. the villains have another app that looks innocent at first, but contains a virus that turns ordinary people into the monster of the weak and they need to be defeated to return to normal. at some point there is a much needed update on the app. however, during the update, the app gets hacked and there is a copycat version floating around in the app store. 3 new rangers appear using this app and this app is then removed from the app store by a mysterious figure. they aren't evil or hostile , they help the team. while the originals are version 1.0 and needs to upgrade each time to 1.5 or greater to access new modes and has a time limit, the new rangers are using the updated app as their base form, so they start off with 1.5 and can upgrade easier with more time on the time limit to spend. eventually, they are able to find a way to increase the time limit for the originals to match the new rangers. the evil app also gets an update and this version also creates rangers. since they are different in the sense that it doesn't turn the person into a monster which is what causes them to be brainwashed, this specific version of the app is used to find people who are most certainly evil and would join them easily. 8 evil rangers are chosen and are given similar abilities as the rangers. unlike most evil rangers in the past, they are equal in strength as the good rangers. however, they are more ruthless in execution. eventually, the mysterious figure reveals himself and morphs into a ranger. he is the creator of all the apps and has a split personality which is why there are both good and evil apps. the creator has 2 ranger forms representing the apps and the personality that is currently in control. his good half is desperately trying to find a way to remove the evil apps but due to his evil half constantly patching the apps, is one step ahead and keeps his memory of where the source of the app is to himself when not in control, the good half can not find a way to remove the source of the app. both personalities are very intelligent and it is later revealed that both personalities formed the labs of the rangers team and the monster team. both side's goal is to stop the other. the labs aren't aware of this fact. later we find the reason for his split personality was due to an app he was developing during his earlier attempts on making an app that can help people do more than they are capable of. the original idea used a strong hypnosis to have the person more accepting to the changes that are happening to them. this could be anything from strength to stamina. the side effect to this however, is becoming arrogant and desiring power and control depending on dormant traits, trauma, etc.. in his case, because of his constant desire to fix his mistakes, he is holding onto the good half. his evil half is arrogantly thinking that nothing bad will happen which is the only reason why he isn't deleting the good app's source. later, the good half learns a way to suppress his own memories when switching personality and uses that to secretly hide a copy of the good app just in case. the battle is over when he finds a way to directly talk to his evil half and taking full control of the mind, secretly digging through the bad half's memory like a filing cabinet and finds out where the original source of the app is, to delete it and has a final battle both in the city with zords and in his mind fighting for permanent dominance. while the battle is over and there's no trace of the evil app throughout the city, it isn't 100% clear if the evil half is gone for good. a yinyang situation... add a couple of movies and/or a part 2 show and keep it going... not sure what that was all about but i just kept on writing lol. don't know what the name would be and how it ties to the morphing grid. but if there was a story like this, i would watch it over what we are getting now (both sides of the pond...)

I would use block like batteries called "Dino Drivers", which can be used to transform the rangers, and used to switch the rangers' weapons.

So basically , behind the scenes of beast morphers, The actually keys don’t fit in the morpher as the morpher had a blue toy button and the green key that come out of the morpher are cgi , and they basically just bang the nose of the keys in to the blue button of the morpher, ( which makes sense as the show uses the go-buster toy morpher)

I remember the season two thunderzords came with these very tiny plastic stick figurines to put on the zords heads or into the cockpit of the thunder megazord.

long ago, when i was actively watching power rangers/super sentai, i had this idea of making a sentai based on writing, books, and whatnot (think kamen rider saber but sentai). the plot is the red ranger is a novelist and he's inadvertently created monsters in the real world instead of idk nowhere(?) and he rounds up 4 other people with unique perspectives to help him clean up his mess. while watching this video, i was reminded of that and the time when i would just randomly grab a pen from the floor. so this would sound weird but i've decided the gimmick for this are pens. they could work like normal pens, but if you turn it a certain way, you can activate powers like a key (you can morph, power up weapons, activate zords, etc.) it's gonna tie together so well with the theme that i'm going which is "i'm writing the end to this story!"

Well, a gimmick I would like (in series, idk how would it work with toys) is a morpher in form of a medal that checks your mastery over the ranger form and weapons, and the more expert you are (or the more trust the medals has) the more lights and details it has. Level 1: just a medal witb a symbol. Turn into ranger and 1 weapon Level 2: medal and 3d symbol, 1 light on. Call a Zord Level 3: The symbol eyes light up, 2 lights and some details appear. New weapon and/or form, you can call other ranger zord Level 4: Details move for a bit, 3 lights. New form if didn't get in level 3, new fused weapon, can control a megazord by yourself. Max level: now the medal has RGB lights or like a small pixek screen or smth. Your suit changes to a more sophisticated look, you can call a megazord for yourself and mix with other megazords. ....maybe a toy with a button that changes trough the levels?

Personally I prefer the basic action gimmicks of the Dino Charge line over the irritating grating noise of the Japanese versions

Ok I actually thought of one. My idea was an Onmyoji themed Power Rangers where their morphers are in their phones as an app (yeah this can be something for everyone. Kids, teens, adults you name it!) And for those who are unfamiliar, onmyoji were government officials in old Japan (not sure which era) and their job was to see the future, create the yearly calendar (via astronomy), and exorcise/ capture yokai. Ofcourse they can't exorcise them all as most yokai are embodiments of nature, what the Rangers can do tho is capture each yokai that's gone wild and rehabilitate them in their headquarters (yes this will probably be the first time that a Power Ranger series will have this as a gimmick, giving their enemies redemption arcs). Anyways another gimmick I could think of about the capture system is that since their phones are touch screen, they're gonna have to draw stars on the phones (like how Power Rangers Samurai writes their respective element in japanese), and if done correctly while chanting the appropriate phrase for capture, their phones will send out an ofuda that will capture the yokai (like how SPD captures fugitives by imprisoning them in cards). Once the yokai become good tho, they can be released or they can be valuable allies to the rangers (hence why the bad yokai redemption arc was necessary). Imagine if you could collect all the villains for the power rangers that become their allies and you could "summon" them through your phone?

i would be nice if the new power ranger season took the sentai gears from zenkiger and make there own version of it

Power Rangers locked around Books with chains. Each book (or Codex) would be what allow each ranger access to separate powers with separate skills being unlocked with these powers. Only each Codex isn't color coded with the leather bindings but instead with the gems centered in the chains that keep the books sealed. Having each Crystal on each Codex showing the Powers of the Ranger that holds their specific Book. To morph one would need to rip the chains off their Codex and have the book flip to the page that held the chants for their "inner being" to be unlocked. Each Ranger eventually falling into a DnD type class as their skills and inner self becomes explored more and more throughout their run each week eventually falling into yet another Level into Team building, Team Coordination, Self building or all of the above depending upon each Ranger, Monster, Issue, and Presence of Awareness. Having a new item, power, skill, or behavior that makes the group feel like a family of sorts.

I would have wrist Morphers that you can slide up and insert cards inside and slide it down closing it and the lights and sounds would activate and Morphers would look like the zord animals that the rangers use and the cards would be similar to megaforce/ digimom tammers the cards could be used to transform or used to summon weapons and zords

Think of this a ranger team built around gravity and forces of nature so red be volcanic eruption and the gimmick is that the morphers are unlocked literally with key shaped crystals and the legendary rangers crystal keys have a special morpher for sounds this ranger team gets the legendary force morpher so they can use the legendary crystal keys but there's only like 3 to 2 and the zords for old teams get a crystal element covering so for example the mighty morphing T Rex zord has a erupting fire around it this could be golden (pun very much intended) and the ranger team can be 6 members or 7 but that's pushing it
