Baffles me how he tells people to never question his commitment to united...but then strolls around the pitch like a moody child throwing his arms around and not putting in the effort. Such a disgrace from someone in a position that most people would die for.

As a Liverpool fan who watches a team week in and week out of players who run for each other and play with discipline, rashford to me just doesn't seem interested in doing the hard yards for his team mates, and for his own performance. I personally think he has been over hyped over the years, he's had some good spells where he was unplayable, but he could just never maintain it for long. Not sure why he is playing so bad at the moment, but either way, personally I don't think he is a player utd should build their team around. Not consistent enough, and with how far behind utd are, they can't afford to be carrying passengers on the pitch!

What’s telling is, what he didn’t say. Didn’t mention his form, didn’t mention team togetherness or being behind the manager. Moving his focus to his commitment. No one would mention his commitment if he was on form, which he doesn’t seem to see.

Running too hard and ETH needing to sub him because he is knackered would not do Marcus any harm. ETH has 5 substitutions. ETH has a talented and expensive bench. Subbing two tired forwards and two tired midfielders in the middle of the second half is not too inconvenient for an experienced manager.

My perception of Rashford, as a Liverpool fan, is that in the great United sides he’d have been an effective rotation player, an impact sub ala Ole. He has been presented as a starter, a player to lead United forward, but he isn’t. He has been put in this position because of United’s downturn. He’s been presented as United’s saviour when he evidently isn’t, which is an unfair expectation to place on him really when he’s not truly good enough to be it and never has been. It also doesn’t help him that he’s probably the first capable player that United’s academy has produced since the class of ‘92. How many good players came through their academy between that group and Rashford’s arrival? I can only remember overhyped lads who never made it and were ultimately sold on.

Giggs played James Wilson, Van Gaal played Rashford , Ten Haag has only played youngsters who Rangnick blooded , you just Hansen Aaron to Wolfsburg who banged goals in for the academy, kambwalla is worth a try over Maguire surely ! Alvaro Fernandez , Mengi were surely worth holding on too ? James garner is better on the bench than Eriksen ! If you can’t get the players to play your way , do it with kids, he’d get more leaway and respect Ten Haag would! Rashford knows Ten Haag wouldnt swap him out for a hugill ! The team as a whole is not playing well and he is a key part of that of course, but why aren't the same things being asked of other players. I think there is a narrative around Rashford which makes for easy "writing", although he doesn't help. Arsenal and United are victims of this and it just seems like Rashy is the newest hot topic. ultimately, he just needs to put his head down and improve. I'm and Arsenal btw.
