I feel like the max VR players never outperform in my lobbies. Like I don't know if they find a way to farm or hack their way to 99999 and they aren't actually that good or if everyone is just choosing to hit them with their items because they are VR piñatas, but I'm generally more worried of everyone else in a good lobby. I often see the max VR player go on an eventual losing streak and then they leave to preserve VR and find a new lobby. To me, the lower VR players could be more dedicated to mogi lounge or time trialing, but someone dedicated to max VR is dedicated to being a pubstar. But I could very well be completely wrong about everything haha. Anyways, congrats on 29k!

I really hope that Mario Kart 9 fixes the Item Trailing. There's no reason that it randomly takes 3 years to pull out an Item behind you from time to time. I'm not saying it has to be Frame 1(even though it could be nice) but something like 5 frames until the Item appears, every time I hold the button, is reasonable.

I saw on dolphin shores you used the right route that you learned from the 150 world record vid. I can see you are learning things. Nice job Troy 👍🏻. I can tell you really learned a lot and are trying to incorporate it in your races.

I don't think that the red shells are the problem (I agree, I get the same frustration from them always when playing), but instead is that mk8 was designed with only single item boxes/slot. The double item box/slot that was brought with MK8 DX makes item spam twice as heavy, leading to more red shells. While it feels more fun, I think the item balance would benefit if they tweaked item rarity or get rid of double item box/slots in the next game. I really liked how in MK Wii and DS (and possibly others, i don't remember) had trailing items that would leave your item slot open for a next item, having the ability to carrying an "extra" item. Not sure why they got rid of it when MK8 came out.

8:45 I think it would be easier on DS Mario's Circuit to take the small off-road shortcut by doing a left hop or mini-drift at the first turn and then a mini-turbo at the second small turn to gain more space and charge the orange mini-turbo.

To me Mario Kart 8 is a step backwards if you compare it to Mario Kart Wii : The red shells appear more often and they rarely break. I miss the fake item box too.

31:37 karts and atvs actually have different drifts from both my experience and what ive seen people say. it's pretty hard to describe, but karts seem to drift sharper than atvs, and it feels like you have more control over your drift on an atv than on a kart. hitbox is a thing obviously, but typically people tend to use something over another thing for a better reason than that (like cat cruiser does have 2 more invincibility than teddy buggy, but people still dont use it because atvs are just better and easier to use)

The disconnections is why you play regional :) Especially if you live in europe, when worldwides are full of japanese and american players which causes absolutely unbelievable lag and lag trails

re. 14:45 Mute City - you are right, the UMT (or any MT) on a boost panel does nothing since only one boost can be active at a time, and (for whatever reason) the boost panel takes precedence... that's e.g. why on Waluigi Pinball, after the sharp 180 (the second set of boxes), you need to hold the drift past the boost panel, otherwise it's just wasted...
