Loved the part where the one guy starts walking up the stairs then he and the Marquis lock eyes on each other. Made me think what is going to happen, then the guy picks up the bench. At least some of the refugees did the right thing and did not lose their dignity.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful chinese dramas I've ever watched. The story of their love is so sweet and tragic but it has a happy ending people don't worry!

The setup was perfect. The reunion between the Marquis/Shiyi was beautifully done. The song playing when he entered was sung by Wallace himself. It was a fantastic entrance. The way Shiyi looked at him when she realized that it was her husband that saved him was filled with disbelief. The eye contact between these two is incredible. The moment their eyes meet each other..they do not stop looking at each other. Even when he's dismounting the horse his gaze is still focused on her. Shiyi's spent so much of her life only depending on herself but every time she's in need Lingyi always there to help or defend her. The GM, Lianfang and now the Ou famiy's schemes are only pushing Shiyi/Lingyi closer together...lol Lingyi addressing the refugees after they stormed the soup kitchen is giving Shiyi an even greater insight into her husband's character. They started out with a huge misunderstanding between them/now they're actually really getting to know each other. He is so gentle with her. You can see just how much he cares about her. I love the moment when he grabs her off the horse/walks away with her in his arms. They're perfect for each other. Well that didn't end well for the Ou family. He was so busy underestimating her that he didn't put any countermeasures in place to protect against his failure. He was so sure that he won because she was just an illegitimate daughter/now he's standing there a complete/utter failure. He's scrambling to clean up his mess. I betcha he feels stupid now for underestimating Shiyi. She literally crushed him/showed just how capable she truly is...I'm guessing he's not going to underestimate her again. Lingyi is such a gentleman. He finally has her in his arms/he isn't about to let her go now. She is trying really hard to get him to let put her down/he isn't having it. When he says they're husband/wife what is she scared of? I couldn't stop laughing. She is so cute in that moment. Lingyi's protectiveness over Shiyi is very apparent. Lianfang is going to have to pay a heavy price for what has happened to Shiyi. She's already on thin ice after harming his son/now she's harmed his wife again.The girl never learns. Lianfang is literally trying to talk to him while he's caring his injured wife to her quarters. Talk about being insensitive. She sees that he has more important things on his mind....but she wants to be relevant in this moment. I was so happy that they brushed passed her without a care in the world. It just shows that she is not important in his eyes. The fact that she refuses to go and see them has more to do with her own insecurities. She doesn't want to see his love for Shiyi on display because then she would have to admit that he's just not into her. She's been lying to herself for a long time with the help of her the GM/her staff. They've worked hard to convince her that Shiyi's standing in her way. If she witness his love/care for her then she wouldn't be able to keep up the pretense any longer.

@Fans Đàm Tùng Vận channel 3 they're made for each other. I love the way he protects her especially from his mother. He's in love for the first time in his life/he's not going to let anyone destroy what they have not even his mother. I love this drama. It's one of my favorite Seven Tan series.

This scene was magnificent. Lingyi appears just in time to see the heroics of his wife and provide his own. The moment he sees a threat to her after he reaches her, he pulls her to him protectively. His kindness without pretext or planning is touching. This sincerity clearly touches Shiyi. It is a strange and wonderful feeling to suddenly have a man who is trustworthy to rely on after years of not being able to trust men.

For the first time, Lianfang had a smart idea, and she didn't went to bow to Shiyi. Her motives are understandable. But Lingyi was clearly not in the right mood to see the annoying concubine, and Shiyi to accept her imaginary respect. Lianfang is very lucky that Lingyi knows how to control himself and has time to cool down / calm down enough after his excitement for his wife. He is not going to forgive what happened to Shiyi and what could have happened to the family. I love the smiles on the faces of Shiyi and Lingyi's servants as he carries his wife in his arms to her home. They are the only ones happy for this couple.

It's the only smart thing she's done. She knows that Lingyi is different with Shiyi than anyone else...which is why she's choosing not to go and greet them. She doesn't want to see the love he has for her. It's the only way she can still convince herself that Lingyi has feelings for her. Otherwise she would have to face the truth/admit to herself that he's not interested in her. I agree. Lianfang is very lucky that Lingyi didn't address her right away because she would've been screwed. His wife is hurt/the Xu family was almost destroyed because of her actions. He's not going to forgive her for the mess that she caused...just like he hasn't forgiven her for harming his son. She keeps adding to her troubles/she doesn't even realize the damage that she's already done.

@@shontelagrone8713 Liangfang looks so much like a spoiled child in this scene. Why did she decide that he would stop and explain to her what had happened. He has more important things to do, take care of his wife. He was so frightened for her. She was literally on the verge of death/injury due to Lianfang's "smart" leadership and the connivance/irresponsibility of his family. He is not going to forgive anyone and nothing in this situation. But there is good in all of this, Shiyi saw the real him. She now knows his real values, he is really an honest and noble person who cares about the welfare of others more than about his own benefit. The fact that he managed to control himself in this situation, and did not make a "pogrom" is very significant. With what eyes she looked at him when she realized that it was he who came to her aid. I love the moment when he instinctively pulls her close to him when he sees a guy coming up the stairs. The way he behaves afterwards shows how much he was afraid for her, he needs time to calm down / pull himself together. He absolutely does not care what others think, the main thing is that everything is in order with Shiyi. Shiyi was confused for the first time, Dongqing is right. The fact that she does not lean on the outstretched hand is due to her embarrassment / confusion, rather than the desire to teach her husband a lesson (when she did this for the first time). For that, she gave him such a great opportunity to once again hug her. Shiyi was so funny trying to talk him into letting her go on her own. He had such a pleased/proud face as he carried her. This was his sign for everyone: "I love my wife." But for some reason everyone refused to read it. Well, Ou Lixing now realizes HOW he underestimated the concubine's daughter, who is neglected by the Xu family. She ruined his plans and gave a trump card in the hands of her husband to fight the enemies of the family.

@@Irynash11 Lianfang is so used to getting everything she wants...that it never occurs to her that Lingyi isn't the one. She's tried everything to get him to notice her...and he has noticed her but not in the way that she wanted. When she asked if he despises her now?... He has never shown her any interest since the moment she became a concubine. The GM thought she had a full proof plan to change his mind about Lianfang but it blew up in her face. Now Lingyi is pissed because his wife was injured trying to protect the family. He's out for blood starting with Lianfang's....even the GM won't be able to protect her from his wrath. Shiyi's face when she saw him in action was priceless. She's finally seeing her husband's true nature. He's an honorable man who cares about the people. When he declared that the Xu family will continue to provide food for them...Shiyi was really impressed. Yes, the moment when he pulled her closer to him to protect her was heartfelt. His protective instincts kicked in/it was beautiful to watch. His love for Shiyi was on full display. His facial expressions from the moment he slid her off the horse/into his arms was blissful. A few days ago he was way from home working/thinking about his wife...and now he's back in the capital with his wife in his arms. He was happy to finally have her so close to him. I love the little smirk when the tells her that "they're husband/wife" and proceeds to ask her "what she's scared of?"...he shut her down in an instant. She didn't know what to say...it was such a sweet moment. Dongqing, Zhaoying and Amber were there to witness it all... Yes, Mr. Ou had his a$$ handed to him by the very woman he belittled. He's never going to forget that he lost to a concubine's daughter. She definitely helped Lingyi with his investigation. She gave him the clues he needed in order to find a link between the Ou family/the moldy rice. They make a great team.

@@shontelagrone8713 Lianfang does not want to understand that she is not worthy of any feelings, even contempt. She is an empty place, and why waste time and effort on her. The more effort she puts in to get his attention/like, the more he notices her emptiness, the brighter Shiyi's kind and selfless character plays Lianfang has never really been denied anything, she doesn't know word NOT. For her, there are no moral restrictions for the realization of her WANT! To Lianfang, people are nothing more than toys she plays with at her own discretion. It was never explained to her that this was not the case. I don't think she sees the difference between the piece of brocade she longed to take from Shiyi and Lingyi. You're right, GM wanted wanted to show her son how wonderful Lianfang is, how she cares about people when he gets back. Only she did not take into account one thing, that she was more used to reveling in the power given to her, to splurge, than to really work and worry about someone. Why do something yourself, if you can entrust everything to others and not be interested, and then shed a tear and say that I was deceived. Only this spell does not work on Lingyi. Indeed, he was happy when Shiyi was in her arms. She did not have a chance to win in this dispute, her logic did not work here. The round was left to Lingyi. Moreover, he did not care at all what the servants in the estate thought. And Lianfang very clearly felt how this “walk” with his wife in her arms really looks in the eyes of the servants. It certainly doesn't beg for his status, rather it elevates Shiyi's status. I doubt very much that any of his wives have received such an honor. And rumors are like wildfire. Dongqing, Amber, and Zhaoying were definitely happy to see such an open display of affection for their wife (you can see their happy smiles). It was the first time that Shiyi's female instincts had kicked in. The way she looked at him as they drove, and then he carried her, said so. She finally began to understand that there was more to his behavior than she thought. But she chose not to think about it and drive away the feelings and thoughts that arose in her. The naive girl. The husband is not going to abandon her, she did so much to make him fall in love without knowing it. Now it's too late.

@@Irynash11 Lianfang shifting the responsibility to her nanny was the very opening the Ou family needed to cause trouble. She's always handing off her duties to someone else...which is why I never understood why she wanted to manage the household. I know it was all about status for her...because she was given the responsibility of the legal wife so that made her feel entitled but she did absolutely nothing. Her servants did most of the work/she never supervised them. It's one of the reasons the nanny was able to switch out the good and feed the refugees moldy rice. If she took her responsibilities seriously there is no way that her servants would dare to double cross her. It's exactly what she gets for always micromanaging things...I don't know why the GM thought it was a good idea to put her in charge of the soup kitchen. She knows Lianfang's personality/being selfless isn't in her vocabulary. She should've known it was going to end up in disaster. Talk about putting the cart before the horse...lol Yes, her family did her a great disservice in the end. They didn't teach her about personal responsibility/that she can't have everything she wants...no matter how much she schemes. In the end her mother finally realized how much she failed her daughter. If Lianfang had heard the word "no" more often she might've turned out differently but her obsession took her down a dark path. Her mother knew that she was obsessed with Lingyi/she chose to support her obsession instead of telling helping her in the right way. She heard for herself that Lingyi wasn't interested in marrying Lianfang but she chose to ignore the signs. They were both relying on the GM to ensure that Lingyi fell in love with her. She tried hard to control Lingyi's feeling by manipulating him into spending more time with her but her efforts continued to backfire. They didn't count of Lingyi's unwillingness to accept her in his life. Talk about being delusional. It's funny how all the servants somehow end up hearing all the gossip going around about Lingyi/Shiyi but they don't fully understand his feelings/longing to be with her. The way he lovingly carried her while she was injured was the BIGGEST clue to his growing feelings. The man was even smiling a little bit as he carried her through the courtyard. Whenever they're discussed it seems nobody has the foresight to describe the scene/the emotions that goes along with it. I mean seriously whenever concubine Wen get the news about them...she automatically assume that Shiyi isn't favored. Lianfang saw it firsthand/didn't want to go and greet Shiyi because she didn't want to witness their closeness. It was a scene that should've been witnessed by everyone especially the GM. Now she's the one that should see firsthand how much her son loves his wife. Maybe it would stop her from concocting her little schemes to bring Lianfang/Lingyi together and face reality...
