I loved it because it was more realistic than Cosby, but just as funny if not funnier. We all have a stupid, but loyal friend like Cole.... Crazy neighbors like Shanaynay.... A cool friend that always has money and women, but you don't know how or why like Tommy.... A loud, arrogant, know it all like Martin... and a wannabe bougie home girl like Gina. I saw my friends when I watched that show.

Cosby was very realistic for me . I could fit right into that family. I am a Black woman. So it was simply not realistic in your world. Denise and Sandra nem are similar to me and my friends. Now I dont like those hood shows. It is not my reality, but I am aware that there are many types of Black people. So I would not say it was unrealistic simply because it is not my reality. But I do understand what you are trying to convey. Martin nem represented the masses of Black folk. The men were working class, and women were professional, college educated. I could relate to them because I come from a working class family who are strivers. So I was expected to go to college. But most of my family are still working class. So I straddle the fence. I can relate and fit in to both worlds. The women in my family are classy women like Claire. So I have a certain air about me and how I carry myself. Peace

Most of the time when you see a rap or R&B artist guest starring on a sitcom in the 90s, it usually means that their career is plummeting but biggie was still at the top of his game during that time.

IndigoPopcorn Where the hell you get that from? Them guest starring on sitcoms usually helped make the show more popular than it already was. Tupac guest starred on A different world and In Living Colour.

LifeIsNotorious In Living Color was dead when Tupac showed up. That last season that was missing all of the Wayans and most of the original cast was terrible. The only later additions to the cast that were good were Jamie Foxx and Alexandria Wentworth.

what I've never understood is that if biggie went to HighSchool with Martin and Tommy and Cole grew up together with Martin since they were kids and they all went to the same High School shouldn't they all know each other lol

Martin grew up with Tommy and Cole yes , but they all went to elementary and junior high together. There is a couple of episodes where they specify elementary and JHS. They never scripted in that they went to HS together.
