Not drinking the broth is something I don't understand about many pho eaters. Broth is pretty much the most time-consuming and characteristic element of pho. You basically determine the quality and skill of a pho shop from the broth alone. Other elements like the meat (knife skill) and noodle (if made fresh) are a lot more subtle and only matter in more high-end places.

people need to realize msg isn't bad if consumed in moderation. it's a natural chemical produced by your body anyways.

The major issue with MSG is that it's a salt, so it will come with all of the problems that are associated with high sodium intake. Other than that? It's perfectly fine to eat!

The Scarecrow Of course. The laws of physics wouldnt let him finish the bowl. But he doesn't have to eat the bowl. I'm not even sure if a plastic bowl is edible. Regardless, you don't have to drink the soup. You only need to eat the noodles.
