The only people who would call The Matrix overrated were the ones who didn't watch it as it came out. It will forever be my favorite movie of all time and Path of Neo was the only Matrix game worth playing.

after all the games ive been played, i can tell that this game is genius, they know what makes different between games and movies, so they add some dumb things and its quite suit the game imo

Yes the game had some issues and I can sympathize with your hostility towards the bane fight. I bought this game at launch and remember loving it. I think it did some ground breaking stuff with combat and camera. They made a game that did some next level stuff. Much of what we love about batman and Spiderman games started right here at the matrix. Making games is hard. Making games amazing, is like performing a miracle while everyone is watching. I seriously hope sony is in charge of remaking this game or has some contractual agreement for the future of this franchise. Very entertaining review. Good job.

The first Matrix is hands down the greatest action/story movie I've ever seen! I LITTERALLY can't think of a better action movie AND Don't tell me to go watch "Blade", "Spawn", "Dredd", "Quentin Tarantino", "Marvel", "DC", "Raid", "John Wick", "Terminator", ETC... Movies..... I've seen em all! But I'd be very happy if someone could point me to a better movie! ~ EDIT: Also the graphics in Path of Neo never looked bad to me in fact all the physics in the game more than made up for the graphics! I find myself even today when playing the game kinda blown away at what they achieved for a ps2 game! I never seem to lose AWE at the sight of me (Neo, In-game) kicking Mr. Smith flying and breaking into the benches in the Burly Brawl fight! little details stick with you! ~ EDIT 2: Just finished watching this review... Call me a fan boy if you want.. But this guy DOES NOT KNOW what makes a movie tie in game great! XD (Hell, This is the only movie tie in game other than Batman Arkham and Shadow of Mordor that I've seen that's worth a damn!)

Does it hold up today? Not at all. Did I playthrough it more then 4 times like I did it enter the matrix and feel like I was playing masterpieces at the time? Oh yes.

To be fair the games you compared it to had larger budgets and more time for proper programming and polish. There was obvious passion behind this game but they had to use what they had with the money and time that was available so honestly the publisher is to be blamed

Having played Matrix Online in its heyday, I can say it was too ambitious for its own good. There were a lot of decent ideas. Terrific skill trees, being able to actually interact with the characters and stories (had a one on one conversation with Morpheus once), and it was nice to have a MMORPG that was guns and bullet time than swords and sorcery. But the combat was essentially rock, paper, scissors, DSL speed meant you’d lag for five seconds and find yourself dead, and all the missions were go to room X and beat up thug Y. But I think now it could make for a terrific game should they attempt something like it again.

I wish when the new matrix film is released they make a vr game and a regular one, a legit vr matrix game doing cool hand to hand combos plus shooting and bullet dodging would be a fuckin blast

The bane part confused me I thought I was going to fight him. And also on the first level I erm well was spamming x and I skip the difficulty and I got the hardest one.

real talk, the pc port is somehow decent. i had problems, but they werent anything big. also, the camera stays on neo during combat, which means that you wont have to deal with the issues it had on consoles.

I enjoyed this game alot on PC :). I had so much fun playing this game and they really captured the movies and to be Neo 🙂😎. The only thing i didn’t like about the game is when they added extended levels that made no sense in The story in the game like the Merovingian section with the giant ant and stuffs , the levels with the Keymaker , the Mecha Smith boss made No sense .

Graphics were ok mate, you are overeacting. Sure, they were not GoW, or GT, and OBVIOUSLY they werent PS3 level, but they worked pretty well in the game, and a lot of the cutscenes were also badass. And not all the games on that time looked better, Spiderman 2 by example, a beloved classic from the same year, and the textures were all over the place. Besides that the game was fun, and god knows that i enjoyed waaaaaaaaaaaay more than the last 2 convulted narrative mess excuses for figthing scenes that people like to call films.

I hated this game so much, loved the first film but the game, the graphics were godawful, after Half-Life 2, FEAR, this was just like pouring bleach in your eyes bad. The animation, lag of any ragdolls, the autolock was annoying, bad game. But tbh i remember the ORIGINAL cast was doing the voice work not someone who sounded identical.
