I think you missed the real point of that first 30 minutes. It was literally the creator admitting they didn't want to make this movie, admitting they were more effected by it then they told people, then it was a sort of apology for what they where about to do. Then they killed the franchise, the only way to stop WB from ruining there work was to kill it themselves in a way they liked instead of watching the rotten corpse keep walking for another 5 movies like every corporation is doing these days. The story was over, leave it in the grave.

The matrix 4 was entirely satire. The entire movie was only filmed to waste the money or Warner bros and make fun of them.

Yeah, it just sucks. They could’ve made a movie that told a sidestory (like The Animatrix) instead. That would’ve worked. We didn’t need Neo to come back. But no, gotta ruin another franchise.

It won’t happen. Hollywood is trying to play it safe these days by sticking to sequels and remakes. Back in the 90s, movie makers were more willing to take risks, which leads to originality, which tends to lead to great stories and movies. As long as Hollywood continues to be scared to take risks, their movies will continue to suck.

Well that's the issue, you say you want 90s movies again! What they hear is, you want remakes of the same movies from back in the 90s Let's be real, what we all want is that feeling we had when we watched those movies back in the day. Nostalgia aside, I think the important take away is that these movies were thought provoking and most of all UNIQUE.

What I took from the last Matrix was that; It was one last cash grab for everyone, but Ms. Wachowski wrote a very satirical storyline about how it was all a Hollywood cash grab & that if they didn't do it, then Warner Bros. would get someone else to direct/make it... It's a VERY cynical storyline, which totally *_sells out_* the "good faith" story telling of the first three movies! And perhaps that was intentional, right? Maybe they're "sick" of it and wanted to line their pockets and destroy what they made, never to be revisited...

I wanted to comment that I think the angle going for the motivation to take Trinity out was as follows: - The Architect was the one who brokered and kept the deal with Neo back in the end of Revolution. In which it still was the less efficient old matrix which didn't have as strong a grasp on humans as the new one did. Hence the energy shortage and subsequential civil war. - When The Analyst took over, he developed a new matrix which had significantly stronger holds on people and led to more efficient energy generation. Hence why he had leverage over the sentinels when it came to preventing the matrix from resetting. - The concern with The Analyst is that basically humans outside of the matrix lost their past growth of the old version, meaning that while they were in peace, their leverage to keep the peace was weakening overtime. So eventually the worry was that IO would eventually repeat into another Zion once the machine city regained its energy supply and wanted to reclaim all humans into the matrix. Plus with Neo and Trinity subdued, the anomaly wouldn't be a threat. - So once the realization set in about being able to rescue Trinity and gain access to modifying the matrix again, they could change it once more so humans inside the matrix would become a lot more open to leaving the matrix, which would decrease the sentinel's reliance on the matrix for energy, and eventually work towards cooperation to help the world together in a permanent peace.

I think one of the best lines about choice came from “Little Fires Everywhere” Reese mom says something like, “I made good choices” Kerry mom replies, “You didn’t make good choices; you had good choices” I love that line bc too often we blame others for their bad marriage, job, life in general, or whatever for “making bad choices” OR “not making the good (and/or right) choice” And for some people and/or sometimes, there really isn’t a “good” or “right” choice. Sometimes there is only choosing bad instead of worse or the lesser of two evils. Choice definitely played a part in the first 3 movies so I’m wondering if that aspect will return.... we shall see.

Literally of you listen to Lana saying that the studio wanted repeat story, so the script was written as a frustrated hodge podge. There are some good philosophical points in Resurrections though. I also happened to like all of them. You get a back story on this amazing free city, but you never get to see the city. I liked getting to see what they were fighting in the 1st one for. If you take them all as different stories, they're actually pretty good lol

Love the video, kinda dig the idea when I think about Keanu character in cyberpunk as, an stick with me just another jhon named roll; like a lot not all, but a lot of his movies. Being in a game. Jhon Keanu, ehhh maybe its just me. But I feel the new game had a play idea into the new film in making it throw you off to the "7th" render to the matrics but with the "6th" ONE still alive. Seems to change his face as he sees an all others do and make his real memories of the first 3 moves seem to be more a game idea then such of a dream. Or totally unreal because he still is the ONE. So insight I feel that was a very clever way to worp a 4th movie to be so much different but have what we like to call deja vu aka in the matrixs similar differences,

I appreciate the video you made. The truth about this film is literary a big middle finger to WB. Sure the resurrection of Neo and Trinity is seen as a meaningful way of expressing Lana's loss of her parents which is touching. But as a film it's is not in the original spirit of the trilogy. Just a cash grab in the minds of WB. Nostalgia is the new currency. And it's killing creativity and spawning garbage.

I can barely remember much from this film, I've tried to banish it from my memory. I can defend Reloaded & Revolutions, they're not perfect films but they still add to the overall story and make sense. Resurrection on the other hand is just down right awful, they could of chose any story and it would of been better then this. They even mention a better plot in the film itself when talking about the machine war and how some machines are now on the side of the humans. This would of been a great plot, you could even follow the Machine "One" who has choice. Basically anything other then Neo & Trinity bullshit.

Any character may have Some archetype as inspiration , conscious or unconscious, in the mind of the author. So , two things must be true.... Is the Keymaker then , perhaps , evolution personified?

What I never got about these movies is how on Earth did Morpheus, Trinity, Neo, etc. gain mobility and sight in the real world if mobility and sight were never used? When born your brain makes those important connections within the first year of life. If they are not stimulated like they weren't in the real world the brain wouldn't make those vital connections and therefore as adults they would pretty much be invalids.
@OneTakeVids

I'm guessing they would explain this away by saying the body so believed in what the mind was seeing that all those muscles/connections/etc were stimulated as though they experienced the real thing.

The "Red Letter Media" guys said this is the new "Gremlins 2", a sequel the filmmaker didn't want to make, so he (yeah, yeah, spare me) turned it into a parody and a meta commentary on the movie business and the audience and the executives who wanted a sequel. According to them, it is a sarcastic rebuttal of the idea of making late "Member Berry" sequels and it makes fun of the audience for thinking they wanted a sequel, when in reality they just wanted a lame rehash. I can't say myself, I didn't watch the movie and apparently they ("Red Letter Media") are the only ones who saw it that way, while every other critic I saw didn't seem to get the sarcastic meta commentary angle and just sees a failed sequel.

I think you are quite unfair to the movie by not accepting the fact that your heroes just aged and fined themselves in a new live gap, where they face old problems but with new conceptions. They developed, but so did the matrix/society either and persuades and distrectes more subversive the members way harder by using psychological manipulations more than the brutal power before. So: i liked the movie very much by giving the characters more space to evolve.

A mechanical 2020s neutered vanilla meta mishmash - mildly entertaining, but lost all the magic of the original series. It’s almost as if the soul has been sucked out of humanity by AI replacing it’s presence as the governing organising force. It mimics soul, but comes across as tinny, hackneyed and like a poor impersonation that lacks any spirited resonance

This movie sucked and it made me feel stupid that I loved the original so much when I was a kid.

Well, to make it short: this movie was utter crap. But obviously WB still has some money left, because they're trying to flood IMDB with high ratings. I gave a 3 star rating, and that's being generous for the old times sake.

Just another disappointment and example that there is no writing talent left in Hollyweird.
