To my surprise my sister chose this song to play at her funeral.. When I let her hear it, she said : "I can do something with it, my funeral will be a party".. And so it went ! I couldn't help my feet and my voice... And now, when I hear this song, I think of her and about the joy she brought me..

My uncle used to sing this song on karaoke any chance he got.. always made people smile and laugh. Tlhe died three years ago and we are on vacation right now and my dad sang this for him last night and made us all tear up. Great song with good memories. They will both be looking down on us right now while we have a tear in our eyes and a massive hole in our hearts and they will be dancing the night away.

Helps that it's in a major key. During the 1950s and 60s, most songs were in major key. The 70s was a mix. Then, since 1980, more and more songs are minor key, which are now the majority. I always thought that interesting and a bit strange.

Heard the Mavericks on cd back in 1997 on a tin can two in one stereo. The beat, pipes, rhythm and lyrics just penetrated my soul. 24 years hence iam listening to them on boutique $$$$$$ reference audio gear in my recording / mastering studio on amps.the size of Mini Coopers & 15 inch cathedral sized speakers. Damn !! My mouth just drops and I can't sit still. Gotta dance !! . The studio mix by the studio tech and Mavericks are just mind blowing ! The pain,efforts sleepless nights, and technical supremacy these poeple must put in to get this awesome rhythm and music going is mind blowing! Great job mate... Made only in America !!

Meaning behind the songs today are totally lost. A song must remain with me for a long time rather today song are just products with very limited self life.

The average new song that comes out and played on the radio you won't remember it a year later. The early 2000s were the last era of good music

Here November 2020! Drawn to this perpetually happy song! It’s also a huge song on the Line Dancing world. Who wouldn’t want these guys singing and dancing around their supermarket. Especially these days with Covid 19. Great tune to sing along and dance along too 👏🏻💕💕

Aah, the nineties... when we were allowed to feel good about ourselves. Before every moment of every day we were expected to apologize for our mere existence...
@Alex-cw3rz3 жыл бұрын
Firstly the irony to say that in the 90s with the satanic panic in full swing. Secondly Nobody is making you do that, you've made up a boogeyman to get scared of. Thirdly If you maybe did what people in the 90s, before and the people who aren't sad acts like me and you. Go outside and stop being terminally online.
@steveouk901262 жыл бұрын
@@Alex-cw3rz The Satanic Panic was the mid-80s. Everything else you've written is squally false.

@@steveouk90126 it ran into the 90s... I understand you have to lie because if you don't it'll debunk your entire argument, but something this easily debunkable is embarrassing. Then you make a fool out of yourself by claiming that going outside and not being terminally online will be good for your mental health, because among other things, you will see non of this propaganda claiming that others are forcing you to apologise. Then you do something even more silly as you claim somebody is forcing you to apologise, noe what are the names of these people?... This is going to be fun I wonder are you going to run away or obfuscate.

Was not expecting this to be the music video 😂 I used to dance to this music at my primary school when I was about 5 in my line dancing class ( I used to call it lion dancing and still did until recently found out it was line dancing not lion 😂) , 12 years later I still sing the song very time I hear it, brings back fun memories 😂❤️
