The Mavericks are certainly playing outside their 'wheelhouse' with this genre' song, but they do it proudly. Still, I yearn for the recordings of their heydays in the mid 90's. Raul Malo has one of the finest voices I've ever heard. My wife and I saw them LIVE in Dubuque, IA one year...the tickets were a birthday gift from my wife :)

Don't hate me.......because I truly love the Mavericks .....but I HATE that hat Raul is wearing. Makes him look like the Queen......( may she RIP). First time I saw it I cringed. Someone .......please.......burn it.......lose it.......hide it.
